At an international school, I refuse to let students’ English skills be a block of their ability to demonstrate understanding of something else, specifically outside of language class. How are others managing this? Does this make sense? Example below.

Hamilton uses BIPOC to tell the story of white folks and completely ignores the rich history of the Indigenous peoples and the enslavement of Black people. I just can’t get behind it. So, what are some musical texts that centre BIPOC joy, and are written by BIPOC? #mypdrama /2

Drama teachers, currently we teach Lin Manuel Miranda’s texts, including Hamilton and In the Heights, so that students can use these for a Director’s Notebook task in MYP, however, Hamilton, with all of its magnificent features, doesn’t sit right with me. /1

This is so important to me - so many students don’t even realize that vocational training/Ausbildungen are even an option (and paid, at that - and some in Germany only require B1 German to start with).
