On this day in 1862, President Abraham Lincoln signed the Morrill Act into law, establishing 112 land-grant universities including Texas A&M! Just 14 years later, #TAMU would become the first public institution of higher education in Texas.

I had a great time today at the @pvamucahs Agriculture Field Day under the leadership of Dr. Gerard D'Souza and Dr. Carolyn Williams. The @pvamu_cep team did an excellent job with the sessions and programming for area youth! Thank you for the invitation!

On Friday, I had a great site visit to the Stiles Farm where Farm Manager Ryan Collett toured me thru the crops and cattle operations over 2,716 acres. The farm runs multiple projects at once via the demonstration and research plot model. Learn more at stilesfarm.tamu.edu

Today, it was my pleasure to present the @txextension Service Partnership Award the Paul Engler College of Agriculture and Natural Sciences at @wtamu! We are grateful for this partnership and collaboration and look forward to many more programs to come!

It was great to visit today with retired @txextension agent Jim Allison during the Amarillo Farm and Ranch Show.

Had the honor of traveling to Waco yesterday with @AgriLife leadership to visit with our friends at @TexasFarmBureau - the largest farm and ranch organization in Texas. It was a great meeting and I'm excited for the future of Texas Agriculture as we move forward in 2023!

RSSI College Access Specialist, Arnulfo Gonzalez, engages students at the Fannin County's Futures Fair! Students wrote one word that comes to mind when they hear “college”. It was great to see that some of their words reflected the many benefits of a postsecondary education!
