@noirgal17 You and Ms. Chase are very welcome. She deserves a lovely cake in a 1940s elegant romantic comedy movie room. If I had an imaginary grandmother, she’d be Maria Ouspenskaya or Celia Lovsky or another Eastern European type. That’s where my ancestors were from.

Your Tuesday nightcap: Broderick Crawford in a publicity photo for SCANDAL SHEET (1952), one of my favorite noirs. It co-stars John Derek and Donna Reed and is directed by Phil Karlson and based on the 1944 novel THE DARK PAGE by Samuel Fuller. #classicstars

Jane Russell taking a break on the set of HIS KIND OF WOMAN (1951). Considering the chaos behind the making of the film, she probably needed quite a few! The film was completed directed by John Farrow, but producer Howard Hughes was not happy with it, and asked for massive reshoots directed by Richard Fleischer. #classicstars
