Anthropic released Fable 5 on Monday. The most powerful AI ever made publicly available. Free until June 22. The US government watched for four days. Then sent a letter at 5:21pm on a Friday. Someone had jailbroken it. To find vulnerabilities in a codebase. The same thing every security researcher does daily. Anthropic said the jailbreak works on GPT-5.5 too. The government only knocked on Anthropic’s door. The administration tried to stop Anthropic from releasing the models before launch.  Anthropic said no. So they waited four days. Then used export controls instead. Anthropic is now on the Pentagon blacklist for being too dangerous for the government. And the Commerce Department list for being too dangerous for foreigners. The company that asked the world to slow down AI. Got told to slow down. By the government. On a Friday evening. The IPO paperwork is still filed. The sandwich researcher just lost access.

I'll be the first to say it: Dario needs to be ejected from Anthropic. He and his gang of Effective Altruists have spent years spreading fear, uncertainty, and doubt. The oldest trick in the book: FUD. Now Anthropic is paying the price, and Dario needs to take responsibility for this debacle.

Anthropic must lose the AI race. I mean that seriously. Their vision of AI feels like a locked castle. The strongest models for selected partners. Filtered versions for everyone else. Regulation that conveniently protects the biggest labs. Endless lectures about safety while ordinary builders get less freedom, less access, and weaker tools. That is a terrible future. AI should give people more power. More agency. More ability to build, learn, research, automate, create and escape old limits. Anthropic seems to want a permissioned future where a small elite decides who gets real intelligence and who gets the padded toy version. I do not want that future. So yes, boycott Anthropic. Do not reward the company trying to become the gatekeeper of human progress.

Removing Fable is the greatest marketing stunt of all time. I've never wanted to use this thing so badly. The model "so powerful the government banned it" is one hell of a tagline. Usage numbers are going to be through the roof once it's back online.

Yeah about that.... read up on what happened in India. Id be very careful using that as an argument. Also Elon helps people by giving more than 100K people jobs with which they can feed their families. Those employees also get stocks which they can use to lend against to buy a house, ir if something bad happens they can cash it out and use it.

It has been a great 3 days as a Fable 5 user. Clearly, Fable 5 is ASI. Very dangerous. As a foreign national, this might be the last time I’m allowed to touch a model this intelligent. But my last hope is open-source AI. An open model will surpass Mythos in 6 months.
