This is a stepping stone, not the final say, on how to address the structural drivers of the poverty premium and financial exclusion. We would like to support the ensuing work on inclusive design so that it is seen as a way to prevent financial exclusion, not just respond to it.

We are very pleased with the Government's commitment to fully fund the Warm Homes Plan. This is a good step towards making homes more energy efficient and reduce bills. Now, the Government needs to support all those in fuel poverty and introduce a social tariff.

Today’s £13.2bn Warm Homes Plan is a huge step forward and other progress has been made: 🏠 Every new home will include renewable energy generation through the Future Homes Standard 👵 Millions of pensioners will have Winter Fuel Payments restored 💷 The Household Support Fund for councils is secure for years to come BUT, let’s be clear, this is not the end of the crisis: ❄️ Energy bills remain hundreds of pounds higher than in 2020 ⚠️ Cold, damp homes still put millions at risk The Government must now: ⚡ Introduce a proper social tariff 📉 Reform electricity pricing and standing charges ⚖️ Move network costs onto general taxation This is the moment to fix the system for good. #EndFuelPoverty #WarmHomesPlan #SpendingReview
