it's so heartbreaking to see all the fanartists of the pitt that have come out since the recent interviews saying they are not comfortable posting anymore... I work as a professional artist, and I am mortified at the idea my fanart would be exposed in those spaces. +
@flowersfromivy it already hurt fandom enough when an influx of people who aren't typically in nerdy spaces came in during covid, now there's even more mainstream spotlight on it
i have a lot of fear about the way mainstream media is talking about fanfiction and making the general public aware of it and i cannot shake the feeling that this will lead to very negative outcomes
@Nhl_hater this generation isn't weird they're just more particular about boundaries. fans no longer try to force their things on celebs to avoid making them uncomfortable, the way it was often done 10-20 years ago, but because of it that kind of respect is expected in return
@swimbirdyswim It's fanart. People are gonna see it. Why post it online to begin with then? Why sell it at the cons the actors will be at then? This generation are weird fr because back in my day if the celeb saw your art, you'd be fucking ecstatic about it.
@jess_skye you can't even point out excessive consumerism anymore because people like you will cry about it being too negative, I don't see that contributing to anything positive either but hey! what the fuck ever
@coldmacaron That was not it, but i dont see how taking a screenshot from a stranger and posting it for others to say “Bad!”is going to make a positive change in anyway, but hey have fun i guess.
@larathereader I get the feeling, but lets not judge and point “consumerism!” at people just because of posts like these. Some people change phones every year, some of us buy a ton of books, let this person enjoy their readers, even if we dont see the point of it.
Despite drawing in a more realistic way my main style is actually more cartoonish-Disney inspired HAHA so I thought it’d try to draw the boys like this 🥹 hope yall like it!

@JessieSketching Tsukimi the main character of Princess Jellyfish, a josei anime about the various misadventures of otaku women and a beautiful crossdressing man
my most controversial take is that if viktor confessed his feelings jayce might have rejected him, but if viktor had kissed him jayce would've 100% had kissed him back
@White_Wolf_304@WhateverWh59201@1mfslw great games like botw and elden ring understand that engaging a player means engaging them with the world you created, that means creating atmosphere and history which both games excel at, even if they're not writing scripts that are a million words long
@White_Wolf_304@WhateverWh59201@1mfslw I would agree, but the problem starts when a game is forcing you to play through a story that is weak and uninteresting because they don't know how else to string you along. if you're making a sandbox game, then don't waste my time with a subpar story
@White_Wolf_304@WhateverWh59201@1mfslw the thing is both tloz and dark souls have genre expectations that don't require this kind of storytelling. I believe botw and elden ring are criticised because they became so mainstream they left the fanbase. it's like expecting Minecraft to have the story of kcd
@coldmacaron@WhateverWh59201@1mfslw I agree, however the story of both Elden Ring and BotW are still both incredibly lacking, BotW especially. It's damn near the #1 complaint about the game
@White_Wolf_304@WhateverWh59201@1mfslw there are worlds between a badly written story and the way botw and elden ring tell their story, because they focus on environmental storytelling and atmosphere
