@DitchThatTxtbk Everyday when the kids cue up to get into my Zoom class I let one kid in a couple minutes early and just chat. I don't think they're on to me yet that I am cycling through the roster.

@DitchThatTxtbk Involve kids in making the assessment rubric or choices for project, it is great way to see the creativity and #autonomy

@danielpching Ouch! @jmattmiller would be so proud of me, since I always ditched the textbooks I was made to use after the first two weeks.

What was the best or worst advice you received as a new teacher? The worst I got is - Don't smile until November. Do people still say that? Best- Don't be afraid to be creative. I took that one to heart!

The leaders who take care of their teachers first, have their priorities in order.

@DrBradJohnson The question we always have to ask is does this increase our ability to teach students effectively? In this particular instance I say no.

Does anyone else feel like standardized testing and evals right now are kind of like trying to teach someone to swim while they're drowning.
