As an indie dev making a living off of my own projects, I can tell you that you're terribly wrong. The main reason why people say it's extremely hard is because most people spend countless years to develop a single game, then it is a commercial fail, then they stop trying. Aim your kid to keep creating freely. Give him wings. He is obviously so passionate about this, and he is so young. He will make it work one way or another, like all other indie devs do. Besides, the "job market" for the games industry completely sucks. There IS good companies to work for, but they are usually small companies which are run with the same passion your son has, and thus carry huge job instability. So why not let him create his own and transmit him trust and confidence, whilst remaining in reality.

Last month, I shared a bit here about how my 17-year-old son has a passion for video game development and has spent hundreds of hours over the last 9 months creating his first game for release. Well, I want to let you know that Nitro Turtles is now out! It's a party racing game (kind of like Mario Kart) and has 9 courses, a speedrun mode with online leaderboards, and split screen/online multiplayer. My husband and I played all 9 courses against each other last night and IT WAS SO FUN! I'm so proud of him for the accomplishment. He has a really demanding junior year schedule of AP/Dual Credit/Honors classes, has straight As, and somehow managed to develop this all on his own out of pure passion. He started teaching himself programming in 3rd grade and just developed his skills from there. Nitro Turtles in the culmination of all the subsequent years of self-driven learning. Web3 should be paying attention to Cash App’s play to earn game. This is literally play to earn CASH 💸 And it exposes a few uncomfortable truths about our industry: - The direction is right. People clearly want games where they can earn. - We have a distribution problem. Cash App has 60M users. Most Web3 games have none. - We have a marketing problem. The idea is good, but we’ve struggled to reach the mainstream. Their model is also different. Cash App already makes money from its digital banking services, and they already have a massive user base. That allows them to redirect part of their marketing budget into a game instead of something like a Super Bowl ad. So in a way, the rewards are simply a different form of marketing spend. New games don’t have that advantage. They first have to build a user base, generate revenue, and then distribute rewards. That’s a much harder path. I also think Web3 has failed to push the boundaries. How is it that no Web3 game has meaningfully partnered with a CEX, DEX, prediction market, or perpetual exchange? I’ve been saying this for a long time: DeFi platforms are the best distribution layer for games. Protocols like Uniswap already have: - millions of users - constant on chain activity - strong fee generating business models That means they can easily fund prize pools or reward systems, the same way Cash App can fund rewards from its banking fees. Instead of relying purely on token emissions, games could plug into existing financial platforms with real revenue and real users. The opportunity has been there for years. Web3 just hasn’t pushed the boundaries enough. Let's stop stealing the VC money and get to work!

70K NO es un BUEN SUELDO, lo que PASA es que ERES POBRE 70K es lo mínimo aceptable para vivir de manera normal sin lujos en una ciudad. Si crees lo contrario, ENHORABUENA, te han lavado el cerebro. Eres pobre y no lo sabes, lo cual es muy triste. Hasta que la gente no se de cuenta de la basura que cobran, esto no va a cambiar. Cada vez seremos más y más pobres. Suben los precios, pero la gente sigue repitiendo que 3000€ netos al mes es un sueldazo, o 2000€ al mes. Van a una entrevista y piden esa basura, o aceptan otra basura aún más grande. @carlosadams L take. Una oficina virtual 3D en donde gestionas a tus agentes de manera visual es una opción increíble para "la gente normal" que podría acelerar la adopción muy fácilmente. Parece muy intuitivo.

Este es el tipo de gilipollez en la que pierde el tiempo el 90% de las personas mientras otros sacan casos de uso que multiplican x20 operaciones, facturación etc.
