@RLanceMartin Love it! Claude volunteered a META-EVAL of a skill that I wrote today. It listed 3 areas that could be improved. I told it to rewrite it addressing those needs. See v1 vs v2 here: diffchecker.com/4GwkwrmE/

There's nothing worse than having 2 (or more) drafts of a book and you have NO idea why there are 2 (or more) drafts. They look different. The question is; how different are they? Guess I'll have to use diffchecker.com/word-pdf-compa…

Thanks for your feedback Charles! Yes, if a piece of text has moved far enough, it will, depending on the length of the text, either be detected as a removal+addition or as a "move". Our algorithm errs on the side of showing any potential changes as we never want to miss a change. Our Redline output uses a different algorithm, which means they'll often give slightly different results, but it's odd that it consistently gives seemingly better results. If your documents aren't confidential, we'd love to diagnose them with you if you email them to us at admin@diffchecker.com.

@diffcheckerapp I keep getting false additions under rich text. Not many but enough that mgmt may not trust results. Are you aware of an issue ? It seems when an item is perhaps moved far enough that the AI seems it new? Redline doesn't have the false additions.

Our enhanced #AI Explain feature can now generate a summary of your entire text diffs, not just line-by-line changes. It’s like having a personal assistant read through your diffs to tell you what matters most in seconds!

We recently added two highly requested features to Diffchecker 🙌. Now you can compare password-protected spreadsheets and check for diffs in Excel formulas—not just the final values. diffchecker.com/excel-compare/

268/999: If Git Fails, Use DiffChecker! After a long time, we finally had a production release at the office! Around 15,000 lines of code were deployed across multiple environments of the project repos (one of the largest I’ve faced!). When moving to prod, there was a lot of testing in dev, UAT, and pre-prod—and everything was working fine. But some features we didn’t want to push live, so we were cherry-picking commits, creating a branch, and merging to prod! Then the code was deployed to prod, and everything seemed to be working as expected—until suddenly, one feature failed! We all got worried because it was an invisible bug. In live, it was broken, but in all other environments, it was working—making it super hard to reproduce and fix. Then, I used my debugger’s eye (Sharingan 👀) and narrowed it down to one repo and one specific file. After running the prod code locally, the issue reproduced. Then I switched the branch to pre-prod—and boom, the issue was gone. So I was 100% sure I had missed one commit during cherry-picking! I compared the pre-prod and prod versions of the file—line by line—Git said everything was synced! Finally, I went old-school: copied the prod and UAT code, pasted them into a diff checker website, and ran a comparison. Guess what? I had just missed a setState variable—a single line of code! Out of thousands of lines, one missing line caused the entire feature to fail! Sometimes, it’s worth taking a moment to appreciate how smart we developers are. If you asked a non-tech person to find one missing line among thousands, they’d freak out! Also, devs—sometimes we don’t need the latest tech. The old-school or simplest jugaad always works. WAGMI 💜

I used Diffchecker to compare the last snapshot of the Legal Terms in Waybackmachine before the change (dated Feb 26, 2025), which were valid since Jan 29, 2024, and the new Legal Terms since Feb 28, 2025 English version: diffchecker.com/oXrh3esW/ German version: diffchecker.com/6ygJY2Hm/ ----------- For everyone who missed it: The day after tomorrow, on March 28, the changes to the ROCKSTAR LEGAL TERMS (rockstargames.com/legal), which were amended and announced on February 28, 2025 (support.rockstargames.com/articles/38883…), will come into effect. A LOT has been changed, especially the changes to the user rules in section 6 should be carefully read. #GTAOnline @RockstarGames

Quick tip when coding with AI... If you are replacing a whole function or a large chunk of code with AI, it wouldn't hurt pasting both old and new, on a site like Diffchecker to see what's really being changed. It could save you some serious debugging.
