@erichoke That time is very difficult for their families too. Especially if they aren’t the senior pastor.

This morning I texted a handful of pastor friends some encouragement. The stretch from Thanksgiving to New Years Day is extremely difficult for ministers. Not only because of extra services or special events but because of the volume of pastoral needs that crop up in these 5 weeks. I used to say I did more crisis counseling and care in December than I did from January - November combined. If you’re a pastor reading this, be encouraged and I pray you find time to gaze upon the beauty of the Christmas story this season. Thank you for your service.

The vast majority of people walking away from Christianity in America are not rejecting the person and work of Jesus. They are rejecting faulty biblical interpretations that lead to bigotry, oppression, and marginalization. This rejection isn't unchristian. It is Christlike.
