If you visit the Alamo you'll see the names and ethnicities of everyone who fought and died for Texan independence on plaques lining the chapel. Irish were there. Scotts were there. Men from Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and the other Northern states. England and Germany. The building blocks of the great American ethnogenesis. There were even about 15-20 Tejanos (Mexicans) who fought (about 10%), which is reflective of the demographics of Texas as it joined the union. To see this inverted and the Anglo people who historically fought for and settled Texas become an absolutely minority is a tragedy beyond words. Texas was and should remain a predominantly Anglo state.
