I think we probably over use concrete and steel as building materials but there isn't a better choice for infrastructure. What are you going to do, lay an eight lane brick highway? The replacement of the material is baked into the cost and planning of the project itself, and will last decades or even a hundred years before replacement is required.

@elijah_thane @orthodoxmason Every material has a life span. Infrastructure is paid for with taxes and has to be done relatively quickly and safely. You can poor liquid concrete for a lot cheaper than you can lay brick, and it lasts 50-100 years. Then you replace it on the cheap again.

I use a SPAS-12 for home defense.
Mainly because the 12 gauge has power (and therefore speed of incapacitation) advantage over an AR-15 and none of the advantages of an AR over a shotgun are relevant for typical home defense scenarios.
