@elijah_thane @orthodoxmason Every material has a life span. Infrastructure is paid for with taxes and has to be done relatively quickly and safely. You can poor liquid concrete for a lot cheaper than you can lay brick, and it lasts 50-100 years. Then you replace it on the cheap again.

@DukeNukem1996 Well you did say "Mainly because the 12 gauge has a power advantage over the AR", you more or less made it a shotgun v rifle argument instead of a spas-12 argument

Interesting how people seem most offended that I said shotguns are superior to AR-15s for home defense. lol The specific SPAS-12 only comes up in arguments later.

I use a SPAS-12 for home defense. Mainly because the 12 gauge has power (and therefore speed of incapacitation) advantage over an AR-15 and none of the advantages of an AR over a shotgun are relevant for typical home defense scenarios.

Nothing wrong with a home defense shotgun, so long as you're doing it cuz its cool not cuz of delusional fudd lore 🤷‍♂️. Only real advantages of a pump shotgun over an ar15 is that you can get one under $200 bucks all day and they play nicer with restrictive (gay) states

@toweldent They may not be winning awards from the academy, but they were always fun and entertaining to play. We'll have to see if they can keep the tradition alive.

@nullferatu when did GTA ever have good writing. I really like IV but even that is a lot of "what if fastfood was made from asshole?"

If you think GTA is too good of a franchise to ruin with bad writing, may I remind you of Star wars.

Episode one released as the most hyped film in history at that time, maybe even to date. But it wasn't very good was it, and everything that followed was worst.

@borkdude For the same reason we don't put massive jet engines in our cars. It could be done, but they're unnecessarily large, probably dangerous, and would require more resources per second than the average person would want to pay.

In 2006 I wondered: why even bother with HTML and JS. Why can’t “web” apps just be like Remote Desktop sessions. Well, why not actually?

I wouldn't be surprised if the VP doesn't even have a computer assigned to him, and I doubt there's an exec anywhere on the planet using a windows device outside of photo ops.

@GeorgeHayduke77 @PolymarketMoney Not sure what else to tell you if you're struggling to comprehend it / refuse to lookup to real world cases where this occurs...supply and demand apply to energy consumption too, I'll leave it that and let you sit on it.

@nullferatu @PolymarketMoney If u need more it costs more. Someone needs to build the infrastructure. Someone needs to make money off of it That's how the world works. It's extremely intuitive.

@GeorgeHayduke77 @PolymarketMoney It may not be intuitive, but if implemented correctly large industrial loads can offset prices for regular users. We do it in texas, but it really only works if the huge energy consumers curtail usage during high energy demand. Look it up it's interesting
