Don’t forget that not only did every single ape in Iryna’s train car avoid her like the plague but they also didn’t call for help, warn people about the attacker, and instead filmed Iryna dying in a pool of her own blood

Xerxes said to Leonidas before the battle of Thermopylae: "You have the option not to go against the gods, to side with me and become monarch in Greece," Leonidas replied by letter: "If you knew what is truly good in life, you would refrain from desiring something that does not belong to you. For me, it is more noble to die for Greece than to be a monarch over my own people." And when Xerxes wrote to him: "Send me your weapons" he replied in writing: "μολὼν λαβέ" (Molṑn lavé = Come and take them) Work: Laconica Apofthegmata Author: Plutarch Chapter: Leonidas, son of Anaxandridas

- "What are the Greeks doing now?" - "They are watching the gymnastic & equestrian games that are now taking place in Olympia" - "What is the prize for the victors?", Xerxes asks - "They are given a wreath made of olive branch", the Arcadians reply Tritantaechmes cries out: "Oh! Oh! Mardonius, against what kind of men have you brought us to fight, who do not compete for money, but for virtue?" Herodotus, Histories, 8.26–27

Rabbi: “Greek Empire to Jews: we don’t want to necessarily kill you; we’re here to civilize you” He offers an interesting perspective on how some Jews experienced Greek rule, after the conquests of Alexander. It’s also important to note that many Jews joined the gym, spoke Greek and got Hellenized. It was not a totally adversarial coexistence.

Everybody knows about the Greco-Roman triumphs but not many people understand how those societies were fundamentally built. They were geared to produce humans capable of such feats. Let's explore how body, mind, and spirit were forged into the steel of powerful societies..🧵⤵️

@TwainTechnique My biggest advice to christian "nationalists" is to read the scriptures cover to cover. Not listen to cherry picked information from some fringe podcaster or youtuber. If you have a nationalistic heart, you will reject biblical teachings.

🇩🇪BREAKING | Starting January 1, 2026, all men aged 17 to 45 must obtain permission from a Bundeswehr career center if they plan to leave Germany for more than three months — whether for studying abroad, work, or extended travel — Berliner Zeitung. This requirement is now in effect on a permanent basis and is no longer limited to periods of heightened tension or a state of defense, meaning a specific military threat. “Greeks copied the Phoenicians.” False. Phoenician was not an alphabet but an abjad, a consonant-only script. The Greeks could not have copied the alphabet because there wasn’t one. They created it by introducing vowels and constructing the first fully phonetic writing system, making speech fully visible. English WITH vowels: "The gods created order from chaos" You read it instantly. No effort. English WITHOUT vowels (abjad-style): "Th gds crtd rdr frm chs" Now look at it: “gds” → gods? goods? guides? “rdr” → order? rider? reader? “chs” → chaos? chess? choose? Greek was already written over 600 years earlier in Linear B. The script changed, the language did not. The Greeks didn’t learn writing from Phoenicians, they transformed writing itself. The Greeks shifted from syllabic writing to alphabetic precision, from partial notation to complete expression.
