‼️Hacker Ring Busted in Lviv Oblast After Stealing Gaming Accounts and Selling Them in Russia for Nearly UAH 10 Million Prosecutors in Lviv Oblast, working with the Cyber Police and the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), have dismantled a criminal group that hijacked Roblox accounts and resold them on Russian websites for cryptocurrency, generating an estimated UAH 10 million in profit. The scheme was allegedly organized by a 19-year-old resident of Drohobych, who recruited two accomplices aged 21 and 22 and is suspected of compromising more than 610,000 accounts belonging to Ukrainian and foreign players. The group targeted profiles containing valuable virtual items, rare equipment, and in-game currency balances purchased with real money. To break in, the suspects deployed "stealer" malware disguised as gaming cheats and used stolen cookie files that allowed them to log into accounts without passwords. The hijacked accounts were then sold through closed online communities and a website hosted on a Russian domain, with proceeds funneled into crypto wallets. Investigators conducted 10 searches and seized computer equipment, storage media, mobile phones, bank cards, handwritten notes, over EUR 2,500, and nearly USD 35,000 in cash. We've realized there is legit confusion on whether Fortnite competitive rules allow for use of drop calculators, which have evolved from being static web sites to real-time tools connected to the game you’re in. This confusion stems from the current phrasing of our prohibition: "Using any kind of cheating device, program, or similar cheating method to gain a competitive advantage” from our official FNCS rules. We'll be updating this to reinforce that these devices, programs, and methods are prohibited if they have any access to the real-time state of the game being played (e.g. through memory, screen recording, screenshots, audio, network traffic, files, overlays). This will include overlays that feed real-time screen information from the Fortnite client to competitive advantage analysis tools. Whereas things like informational web pages that don't access the current game state are ok. Given the confusion on this, disqualification of these players was a mistake and the DQs will be removed from their record. The bad news: due to the tournament timing, the lobbies are now full for this event and it's too late for them to continue in the current tournament. Idk how basically no one was willing to say Mooda is cheating. I watched the replays and tried as hard as possible to give him the benefit of the doubt, but it’s just so obvious. @fettR6S im sure reapiin will agree, but imo the pc check was a huge fail. the main reason is that they couldn't use any tool and had to do everything manually, and most bypass vectors/traces can only be seen using certain tools, not manually
