@Now_Concerned @gerardtbaker The bases are on sovereign soil & permission to have that base can be withdrawn at any time, like that mortgage or rent you pay, right? I'm curious who you think is supplying naval & air bases on the N. African coast, cause we don't have any friends there.

With all the threats from USA of pulling out of NATO, and pulling out of their European bases, they don’t seem to realise there is a rising ground swell of opinion that they should just do exactly that. Time to call their bluff.

@jezzle9 @Now_Concerned @gerardtbaker Not quite. The EU has very little in US debt. About 1.5T which is only like 6-7%. And most of that is private in Ireland or Luxembourg, not sovereign held.

@TedMaul13 @jdpoc They don't actually - the total foreign holding of US debt is less than 30%. Japan has the most. All of the holdings in the EU is less than 7% and most of that is in private holdings in Ireland and Luxembourg, not sovereign funds.
