
Still no counteroffer from Senate Democrats. The proposal that’s currently on the table does what Democrats have repeatedly said they want. It isolates the areas of disagreement (immigration enforcement) while funding the rest of DHS, including TSA. In terms of reforms, it includes all of the bipartisan proposals that were included in the deal Dems walked away from in January. Demanding additional reforms to portions of the bill you’re insisting be removed is a non-starter, and it doesn’t make sense. The time to get serious is now.
