THE FOSTERING THE FUTURE ACT Today, the House unanimously passed the Fostering the Future Act.   Senators- we have momentum. Let’s protect our foster care community and enact permanent law now.

Today, the House passed H.R. 7432, the Fostering the Future Act, advancing meaningful reforms to better support foster youth. A tremendous amount of hard work, leadership, and dedication went into developing these reforms, and it is amazing to see this bipartisan effort move one step closer to delivering the brighter future America’s foster youth deserve!

Today marks a historic moment for the Ways and Means Committee and the House as we take action to give our nation’s foster youth a stronger path toward independence and success in adulthood. I’m especially grateful to @FLOTUS for her leadership and unwavering advocacy through the Fostering the Future initiative, and to @RepLaHood for his commitment to elevating the voices of foster youth and advancing meaningful reforms that deliver real opportunity and support for their future.

Foster youth need resources and support to successfully transition into adulthood. Today, the House is taking up the Fostering the Future Act, bipartisan legislation focused on strengthening and modernizing the foster care system for young people across America. TAKE IT DOWN ACT - 1 YEAR LATER Last year, @FLOTUS championed the Take It Down Act to protect Americans from nonconsensual intimate images and deepfakes online. Today, the @FTC begins enforcement to hold digital platforms accountable—ensuring a safer digital world.

FOSTERING THE FUTURE ACROSS AMERICA Over 180 days since the Fostering the Future Executive Order by @POTUS and @FLOTUS, 20 states and jurisdictions have joined @ACFHHS in advancing a coordinated effort to increase the number of homes available to youth in foster care 🧵
