@QuinnyPig What nonsense. SVB is unusual in many regards, and there's no reason this would spread to other banks. Also- everything I've read makes me think that there will be a remedy by Monday. Calm down.

If SVB depositors aren’t made whole by basically Monday, I fail to see how there isn’t a run on every non-strategically important bank in the US banking system.

@DrStephCraig Then I'd focus on those learning outcomes. I'd explain the format of the exam and my general grading approach. Each class and exam is so different, I have come to believe it's fair for students to want to understand how they are being evaluated.

In other words, the government had very little interest in enforcing Covid rules (not like what you can see on YouTube from Australia) and no ability to force the cautious people to stop being cautious. Policy surely mattered but it mattered less than people think.

I think the biggest mistake people make in thinking about the Covid era is overrating top-down policy relative to bottom-up behavior. DCPS was slower to reopen than I preferred but DC charters were even slower to return and clung longer to masks.

@GBBranstetter Simple, "the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few' - Spock, 1970. Hypersexualization children is wrong. Teachers talking to children about sex is outside the job description. Teachers are not exactly qualified to speak to any psychological issues.
