Tomorrow is my last day of a 3 year consulting assignment. Planning on taking a 2 or 3 month break to give a big push to @itemzen_app before taking on a new gig. Also planning on posting more on the progress and decisions. Stay tuned.

@DmytroKrasun Two things: packaging density and security. For both docker is lacking and as such it will not be the final solution. Search Google for how WebAssembly is solving these and might/will replace docker.

It was the Internet. Then it was Docker. And now it is LLMs. Docker is a technology with zero downsides. Can somebody specify at least one reason why not to use it, especially for deployments and as a production runtime? It has zero performance overhead (Linux). And it has incredible tooling and ready-made images of every impossible piece of software in the world. What else do you need? And what can be better than that? Philipp is my friend, but my greatest friend is truth. I am curious, seriously.

@sunglassesface I don't like docker

@FounderKyle If your plan is to take off with your side project, it might work but your spouse won't be cool with it

If your plan is to build cool features and hope your side project takes off I can assure you that won't work.

Feature Friday @itemzen_app! - The organization can now be modeled as a hierarchy of locations and sites. - Templates can be made 'location assignable'. - Assets can be assigned to a location or site.

@Matt_heyqq I second that. Current progress is made by doing more of the same at larger scale, but some very hard problems remain unsolved. Have a look at the work of Jeff Hawkins.

@MrPeterLMorris Sure, I'm mixing up Flux and Redux. I meant to refer to the Javascript world where the pattern is rooted right? The way state is mutated in flux seems relevant in loosely typed languages but not so much in static ones like C#.

@MrPeterLMorris The same things the redux pattern tries to solve right? 1/ uncontrolled changing of state and 2/ managing state which does not fit in a parent-child relationship

@MrPeterLMorris My feeling/experience is that MVVM, combined with messaging, can cover most of the problems flux is trying to solve (in addition to others). In case you do need state which is orthogonal to your context (or common to a lot of VM's), you can use/inject a service class.

@MrPeterLMorris Community toolkit. Also: would you be interested in a blog post about MVVM in Blazor? I used to use Fluxor, but frankly after quite a bit of struggling with it I switched to an MVVM approach.

✨ WhisperIt deal with Lawyer firm SIGNED 🎉🍾 This is unbelievable. So it is possible to build, do a PH launch, and sell in less than 1 MONTH 🤯 I'm so proud that I have been able to negotiate this and keep the prices. The deal has been approved with the exact numbers shared below. I will bring them the champagne personally into their office in two hours to celebrate it with them. This is the level of engagement that I want. Now let's build this and provide stellar customer support to all the WhisperIt users. Let's GOOOO 🚀

@sudobunni I've been teaching this for over a decade to developers and practice it myself as a religion. People think they need to write documentation for others, but you are the one who benefits the most.

The best thing I've started doing as a developer is writing down every single thought. It frees up my mind so much, makes it easier to pick up where I left off, and gives me amazing feedback when I look towards improving the UX or developer experience of software
