@MichaelRosenYes @Hazzreid @bbcnickrobinson @BBCr4today Interesting question Michael I’m a POC, as you know I don’t know a single POC who has NOT been the victim of racist abuse or violence. That includes me. The last 3 incidents in Muswell Hill at the hands of far right people. Not a single person reported the abuse as far as I know

Do we need to hear people in all communities stand up for Jews as they would stand up for black people or Muslims if they were coming under converted violent attack. I put that question to the Home Secretary on @bbcr4today and suggested she had almost unique power to lead the response to the attacks on British Jews because she’s a politician with a history of opposing & protesting against Israel’s actions, calls herself a “devout Muslim” and could say uncomfortable things to people who share her views on Israel share her faith. This was her impassioned reply x.com/BBCr4today/sta…

@bbcnickrobinson @BBCr4today Do people stand up for 'black people and Muslims' when they come 'under concerted violent attack'? Do any of those attacks go unreported or under-reported? What's the history of reportage of attacks against people of colour?

Starmer: ‘We need to get to the root causes of extremism and antisemitism.’ 30 months of genocide and complicity are likely to have something to do with it.

Zack Polanski’s full quote on Jews’ “perception of unsafety” “I'm concerned about rising antisemitic attacks. We saw arson attacks on ambulances for instance and we know that increasingly Jewish communities are feeling unsafe. There’s a conversation to be had about whether it’s a perception of unsafety or whether it’s actual unsafety, but neither are acceptable”. It seems that last line - “but neither are acceptable” - is getting missed out by people who would absolutely agree with this, if Polanski didn’t have different politics to them.

By the way, if your first thought is “how can I use this horrendous act of violence in Golders Green to attack @ZackPolanski?” — the most prominent Jewish politician in Britain, then you’re a complete ghoul and you should be completely ashamed of yourself, if you even feel shame.

@PaulaCoyscot I'm curious about who the little fella in green is. A member of the public, I guess.

Apparently today is the day that a lot of people are learning that the law absolutely allows police officers (and, indeed, members of the public) to kick people in the head when faced with a potentially lethal threat such as a person actively stabbing people.

Oh come on, hardly. We know very little about the suspect other than he was known for having mental health issues. It's a terrifying assault on the Jewish community, and I understand very well the concerns and the fear. It's ok to hate what happened today, and to question the use of force.

You can all be jubilant if you wish that British police officers are repeatedly kicking an offender on the floor to the head instead of using proper restraint techniques You might not be so jubilant when this thuggery becomes the norm of *anyone* they suspect. Of anything.

@SohoKenchie @MirabelTweets1 Reasonable use of force. I'm questioning whether, in this instance, repeated kicks to the head could be considered to be reasonable use of force.

@SohoKenchie @MirabelTweets1 He was already restrained, tasered, prone, incapacitated. The kicks to the head seem excessive, but it really is for the police to explain their use of force here.

@doctoriaindarcy That he couldn't contain himself while interviewing the leader of political party should be his undoing. It was the height of unprofessionalism.
