@XOQueenEsther It isn’t uncommon for world leaders to meet at the U.N. However, each event was by invitation only. The only people permitted within the perimeter were invited guests, New York’s Finest, F.B.I., Secret Service & reporters. There were snipers on the rooftops.

@XOQueenEsther Americans loved the King’s Speech! It might not be obvious. However, security measures were heightened in New York & Washington. The streets were closed in every direction and barricades kept everyone at bay. This is why you don’t see people, cars or buses.

This is what Meghan Markle and Prince Harry thought it would be like when they left the royal family and moved to California… motorcades, crowds lining the streets, people cheering and waving for them. Meghan Markle hugely miscalculated, thinking the crowds that turned out on royal tours were there for her. It’s a quiet but powerful lesson… don’t let your ego convince you the spotlight was ever yours alone. Some lights belong to something far bigger than one person. She learned that a little too late. And honestly? I’m not sorry she did. 😌

But here's the part everyone is missing: This is the first time a reigning British monarch has made an official state visit to Washington in history. Charles didn't send a diplomat. He didn't send a letter. He flew across the Atlantic himself — in person — during one of the most strained periods in the US-UK relationship in decades. Trade negotiations unresolved. NATO funding disputes ongoing. The Iran situation still unfolding. And the King of England showed up anyway. → You don't send a monarch for a photo op → You send a monarch when the relationship needs something only a monarch can deliver → A personal appearance from the Crown is a message to every other ally watching The handshake on the South Lawn with both flags flying wasn't ceremony. It was the UK signaling to the entire world that whatever tensions exist, the alliance holds. That's what nobody is saying out loud. When a king travels to you, it means the back channels weren't enough. And both sides knew it. Follow before, it's too late, if you don't, you will regret it.

Once standing before tens of millions with purpose and stature, he traded it all to prop up ambitions that neither talent nor substance could sustain. He handed over everything his position gave him - reach, relevance, credibility - and it still wasn’t enough to satisfy a shallow, fame-fixated hunger.
