Starmer’s continued insistence he knew nothing about Mandelson’s failed vetting is beyond implausible, it’s embarrassing.

Why can’t he say that he misled the House over due process being followed throughout Mandelson’s appointment, even if he wants to claim it was inadvertent? For there is no denying — he did mislead the House. Surely that is incontrovertible. /6

Going to say it again. Setting aside the broader issues of all this. It is absolutely insane if any Labour MP thinks this issue is simply going to fade away. We are going to have month after month of leak, document drop and parliamentary theatre. There will be no end to it.

EXCL: The Intelligence and Security Committee has now been handed the vetting information the cabinet office received several weeks ago. The Guardian understands this includes a short summary document including details of Mandelson’s personal life, financial and business dealings - which the PM is now believed to have seen. It also includes the vetting template showing UKSV flagged “high concern” over Mandelson’s appointment and recommended that clearance should be “denied”. The ISC is expected to push for further information, which could include an audit trail of who in government knew what, and when, about the vetting decision, as well as minutes of any meetings held by Olly Robbins within the Foreign Office on the affair. ISC members are expected to assess the documents on Tuesday & Thursday before returning it to government by the end of week ready for public release.

The press conference today illustrates how @reformparty_uk is mastering the delicate balance between radically rectifying the catastrophic failure of border control, without being toxically unelectable in a FPTP system.
No other party is doing this.
For the first time we have a future Home Secretary who is tenacious and ruthlessly focused on the British people combined with a future PM who is completely on the same page.

Keir Starmer didn’t answer my questions today.
But he did tell Parliament that his Ambassador in Washington was a risk to our national security.
That is shocking.
I’ve been granted an emergency debate tomorrow so I can keep pressing to get to the bottom of this mess.

It is my opinion, that if Keir Starmer hadn’t made Mandelson the U.S Ambassador… Mandelson would have leaked damaging information about the Prime Minister.
This is the only explanation for Keir to pull out all the stops to get him in the job.

It’s quite clear from this document the Prime Minister was told this in November 2024.
He didn’t want to answer my question…because HE KNEW.
He was told.
Yet he appointed Mandelson anyway putting our national security at risk.

Judgement day!
The whole point being missed about the Mandelson appointment is that there was an excellent Ambassador already in place who did not need replacing.
Dame Karen Pierce, had served from March 2020, she was highly effective and had strong ties to the Trump administration.
There was absolutely no reason to get rid of her.
Someone wanted Mandelson in there, fast, come hell or high water.
So the real question is: Who wanted him in there, why and why was it so urgent? And then we’ll find out why they were prepared to override security procedures to do so.
