@indoors_remain Went to our neighborhood pet shop and got to visit the blue-and-gold macaws and African grey who have been there for the last 30+ years. Apparently the grey was "feeling silly" that day according to her caretaker, singing to herself and dancing and wolf-whistling as we came by.

There was a lovely young woman in the market today with her cockatiel on her shoulder. Just doing their shopping together. And the cockatiel was WEARING A SHIRT that one of the traders had made for it. Happily burbling cockatiel in a shirt. We may have nearly died of squee :-)

@_captainscience Even then perhaps only if it's because they were/are a threat to the public. If we could eliminate paparazzi as a career option, the world would be a much healthier place.

Can we agree that whatever celebs do is not news, it's gossip and shouldn't be published unless there has been a conviction?

@indoors_remain I always enjoyed puzzles where you search for hidden images/shapes. :) I really did try to see dragons in that painting, but even I couldn't stretch my definition enough to make them out. :P

@AlayneF Aha! That makes sense. I hadn't even noticed the frame, as I was staring at the painting looking for dragons :D Thank you!

This is fascinating. The house's history is of great interest, but its current use is lovely: altruism with now befouled political agenda attached. twitter.com/livinglondonhi… p.s. could some pareidoliac normie point out to me where the dragons are in that painting near the bottom?

On Soho Square you can see this intriguing building with ‘House of Charity’ emblazoned on the front. Find out the fascinating story behind it here 👉 buff.ly/3PUUMWK

@indoors_remain That sounds right to me. Mine are photorealistic and very detailed. My mom says she sometimes dreamed in black-and-white as a kid because that's what she saw on TV. And some friends/family have limited internal visualization at all. Brains are fascinating!

@AlayneF I've read, repeatedly, that most people don' dream in colour. I find this impossible to comprehend. All my dreams, all my life so far, fall into two categories: normal colour and, occasionally, superrealistic, impossibly intense colour.

Flying dreams. Anyone have them?

@AlayneF Kewl! But never dreamt of flying under your own steam, as it were? I'm curious, because I did have recurring ones. But only in childhood.

@indoors_remain Best ones: I had one on an island made of a selenite tower surrounded by ocean supersaturated with mica flakes. Another in a castle on a jetty with waves crashing against portholes in the walls. A house in a silver lunar-like plain where I was visited by my dogs who had passed.

@indoors_remain I'm trying to think of one. My brother had a lucid dream once where he escaped a nightmare by flying away. I've certainly daydreamed about flying... Most of my dreams that I can remember are complicated and cinematic, rarely repeating, except for settings I sometimes return to.

@cristela9 Had scattered heavy storms yesterday, but clear and sunny today. It's been a very off-and-on spring, so I usually just recommend keeping an umbrella available whatever the weather says the day before. Varies dramatically which part of town you're in too.

Anyone in San Antonio....how's the weather this week? Has it rained? Is it supposed to rain?

@indoors_remain Aw, lories! I've only gotten to see them at our local zoo. I bet a whole colorful flock of them is a lovely thing to see!

As if my day wasn't already off to a (badly-needed) good start, a huge flock of #RainbowLorikeets just landed on the big tree next door, shouting their lovely little heads off. Marvellous!

I've gotten the best responses from readers for things I wrote that were entirely self-indulgent and written because I was just having fun. Similarly, some of my favorite pieces of art and music are clearly weird passion pieces someone made purely because they really wanted to.

Yeah I'm real tired of being told what I can and can't write and how long it should be to maximize "sellability". Write the book you want to read. Write the book that brings you joy. Edit smartly but don't sacrifice story for word count
