We're pleased to update that a 37-year-old man has been arrested after a man was pushed on the tracks and two others assaulted on the Underground last week. He was identified by two off duty officers on the Central Line this afternoon. Thanks to everyone who shared our appeal.

@Durquin1 @EmWilliamsOU @BTPLondon Agreed, it’s a basic policing principle being professionally curious. However, alongside this is deploying our officers to locations showing higher levels of incidents to have them in the right place at the right time

@EmWilliamsOU @BTPLondon Why is asking if someone is OK evidence of EBP? It’s been a core feature of patrolling officers to speak to people since day 1, especially if they may look out of place etc.

@BTPLGarrett @BTP Agreed. No women, man, child or creature should feel alone or unsafe specially when traveling. Yet its fair to say many people are not sure on what they can do, many just film and sadly others find even when trying to help the victims are afraid of them.

@GingerBritish @BTP That’s great to hear your experience of other passengers intervening but not all will have that same confidence The offering of a seat is just one example, the aim is to INTERRUPT any unwanted advances Any interjection will help to show the victim they are not alone 👍

@BTP Most of the time you will see general passengers stepping in to help if things look they are getting out of hand or the person is unhappy but as for some one given up a seat. You cant get someone to do that with a priority seat normally, let alone when there is trouble.
