1/3 I see my visit here has caused quite a controversy. To clarify, I am here in a personal capacity, paid from my own pocket. I felt I had a choice - to either comment from afar behind a phone or laptop, or come here to connect & understand on a human, meaningful level.

Thousands of golden visas given to Russians since 2008. Tory party awash with Putin's money. You'd condemn this surely?

@BaggerHappy @Adamprice @JonnyValleyBoy I suppose you have evidence? The amount of Putin money flowing into Tory party is well documented and Johnson has put a Russian in the House of Lords. They've also suppressed the Russia Report.

@Adamprice Inconsistent. You can't say it means more for you to go as politician rather than a tweet or press release, while also saying you're there in personal capacity, paid for by yourself, and not as a politician.

2/3 I am obviously not here to solve the conflict, but I am here to show solidarity in a time where real, meaningful connection with real people means far more than a tweet, a press release or just another soundbite from a politician at home in their comfort zone.
