The Trump administration is now revoking green cards and deporting relatives of Iranian regime officials who are living in America. Should foreigners who burn the American flag and express hatred for America also be deported?

@CalltoCitizenry @1Nicdar @Hey_Deb_21 They got the money literally from Obama in pallets of cash. The money was previously seized and in no longer on Iran’s possession or control. He literally handed the money to them.

@1Nicdar @Hey_Deb_21 Obama gave 1.7B to Iran. Their money US kept in 1979 after canceling weapons deal. Obama did not give 150B to Iran.

Saudi Prince MbS reveals that President Obama gave Iran $150B, and the IRGC didn’t even build a single street with that money. Instead, they used the money to make missiles and drones. And on top of that, they also used the funds Obama provided them to finance and arm terrorists like Hamas, Ansar Allah, and Hezbollah. With these funds, Iran offers safe harbor to the leaders of Al Qaeda, including one of Osama Bin Laden’s sons who was indoctrinated into jihadism. Obama is by far the worst man to ever set foot in the Oval Office. The neoliberals like Hillary Clinton, Victoria Nuland, Samantha Power, etc. who ran his administration did so deliberately in order to keep the region destabilized and to use Iran as a buffer to prevent the Gulf states and Israel from amassing too much prosperity.

@madevolution001 @jomo992 @SecRubio I’m not worried about them. That’s the point. They don’t matter in the discussion about what is appropriate in the best interests of the US. That is for us to decide

Until recently, Hamideh Soleimani Afshar and her daughter were green card holders living lavishly in the United States. Afshar is the niece of deceased Iranian Major General Qasem Soleimani. She is also an outspoken supporter of the Iranian regime who celebrated attacks on Americans and referred to our country as the "Great Satan." This week, I terminated both Afshar and her daughter's legal status and they are now in ICE custody, pending removal from the United States. The Trump Administration will not allow our country to become a home for foreign nationals who support anti-American terrorist regimes.

So political opinions are now grounds for deportation? Since when did holding a green card mean you have to pass a loyalty test to the government? If praising your home country’s regime is enough to get you detained, a lot of people in America better start watching what they say this sets a dangerous precedent

@madevolution001 @SecRubio Praise your own country all you want, but she didn’t just do this and you know that. She was outspoken AGAINST the US. She is here by invitation only and if you don’t support the country, but rather work against the best interest of our country then you need to be removed.

I urge you to pay close attention to @rcbregman: fascism is not just coming to America — it is already here, alongside Christian Nationalism. The takeover is happening quickly, and many have yet to realize it. This is a deliberate part of the chaos plan orchestrated by Trump. #DemsUnited

I welcome the hate for this, but the whole "Ketanji Brown Jackson is stupid" discourse is itself stupid and also racist. There's literally no evidence from her opinions or questions that she's stupid. It's just people who themselves are ignorant about the law. Being in a one person dissent happens sometimes (see Alito in the WBC case). Or if you want some famous heroic examples, Justice Harlan in Plessy. Same was true for Thomas, who has faced this "DEI hire" stuff for 35 year. He has a judicial philsophy that I deeply disagree with, but he's brilliantly smart.

@RightsRule250 @WallStreetMav It isn’t the constitution. It is the unilateral interpretation of the constitution by the court, not necessarily the Constitution. Equal branches can differ. And when they do they must act in the best interest of the country regardless of the differences

@WallStreetMav SCOTUS will and must strike down the EO. Predicting 7-2 or 9-0 striking it down. If one doesn't like the Constitution, seek to amend it. EO's do not amend the Constitution. No Kings in America.

What is the solution if the US Supreme Court sides with the left and says children from illegals and tourists are automatic US citizens? Are we doomed to just sit here and watch the slow decline into the USA just becoming another 3rd world shithole? That seems to be the path and it is depressing to think about.

We have equal branches of government. The courts (one branch) made the exclusive proclamation that they have the final word. Branches can differ and when it is big enough of an issue the other branches have an obligation to ignore and override. Sorry this doesn’t fit into a neat little agreement box. Judicial branch only has unilateral authority because they said so.

The same duty judges have to support the Constitution is required of legislators, most executive officials, and state officials. The stronger duty to protect the Constitution is required of presidents. When justices are wrong, we must elect and appoint others who get it right. See links in reply.

Not according to the ACLU attorney arguing in this case. Her argument was that there are no other exceptions other than those already addressed by the court. This is a key element of her argument. Her argument is specific that Congress may NOT create new exceptions. This is going to be a significant hurdle to overcome for the court. I’m not saying they won’t rule in the favor or her argument, but that was the argument made.

There’s literally a chair set up at SCOTUS for our presidents to sit in for oral argument. Your separation of powers nonsense is more imitation pearl-clutching hauteur.
Kathryn Watson@kathrynw5

If President Trump attends the Supreme Court's oral arguments tomorrow on his birthright citizenship executive order like he says he will, he would be the first sitting president on record to do so. Presidents have avoided attendance in part to honor the separation of powers.
