The criticism of Ben McKay is completely overblown and he has almost always stopped his direct opponent from kicking a bag since joining Essendon, which is his primary job

@RonnyLerner He literally costs goals in so many different ways. He's horrible. Just because his direct opponent doesnt always kick 6, doesnt mean his poor skill level doesn't put his teammates under direct pressure ,leading to goals

@MrCricketAust Maybe it's more about what it means culturally to force a player to stay, who doesnt want to be there? Despite him playing well for a half the other night, his body language is horrible and he definately is sooking out on the field.
