The Nuggets moved on from Michael Malone primarily due to "fear" of losing David Adelman to another team, per @BrettSiegelNBA “One of the reasons the Nuggets ultimately moved on from Malone was out of fear of losing Adelman to another team, as sources said he had long been viewed internally as the franchise's next head coach once Malone moved on. That time came last season, and despite all the struggles faced this season, Denver does not appear prepared to go through another coaching change in the immediate future.” (clutchpoints.com/nba/denver-nug…)

@PaulTweetsRIP These guys are around the teams and have a good sense of the vibe and hear things. They can’t report on things sometimes. It took like 3 years before someone reported Nurk left a game at halftime and had to be dragged out of his car by the GM, despite multiple reporters knowing

Anonymous sources on athletes character need to be put to an end. Write something real that you can prove you didn't make up. I do not care if you have the co-sign of other journalists that do this too.

@His_Forkiness @TheWestbrookEra He’s being complementary about the Wolves organization and criticizing Denver’s? That they can get everyone to pull in the same direction, and Denver’s can’t

This was the first year I got a look into how Denver media talks about the team and Jokic. I completely understand why their fans move the way they do. It's 100x more brainwashing than a Warriors home broadcast.

@KarimElNemr3 @KBknowsball “4 years later after we won 2 more MVPs and a title “people” started saying he was the best offensive player in history and a top 5 centre, when really he is like the 2nd or 3rd best offensive player an like the 6th best centre”. This is what you sound like

@KBknowsball Jokic got disgustingly underrated around 2022 because nobody who was actually criticizing him ever even watched him. 4 years later, he got crowned the GOAT offensive player and a lock for top 5 center OAT without earning it, mix in some racist undertones from DNVR media.

@BobbySammonov @nthonyedwards Weird he didn’t add jokic to the list given he starts a fight on the court every 20-25 games. Guy has some serious anger issues and he wasn’t mentioned

@nthonyedwards Leaving a game at halftime probably qualifies as being a bad apple in Bones case. Jaden is a hot head to broke his hand punching a wall. Russ is on a new team every year etc. Y’all weird

I wonder what Bones, Russ, Ant, Jaden, Naz and TJ have in common to make them "bad apples" and "cancers" lol

@Matthewp7741 @azzmaster Before last year, they ranked 8th, 14th and 11th. That’s consistently solid to good defence over multiple seasons. The team has generally been competent defensively until the last 2 years.

@azzmaster It’s damn near impossible to cover for a center whos as bad defensively as jokic

The Nuggets roster is far from perfect, but the mental gymnastics that some people do to pretend that Jokic’ own weaknesses aren’t part of those flaws is crazy. Any team with him on it is going to be behind an 8 ball defensively because he’s a pg that rebounds not a center

QUESTION OF THE DAY: ❓👇 Would you move on from Cam Johnson if it meant retaining Peyton Watson? 🤔

One Nuggets starter is "almost guaranteed" to be sacrificed this offseason if the team moves to retain restricted free agent Peyton Watson, per @BennettDurando “One of the Nuggets’ top priorities will be retaining restricted free agent Peyton Watson, and if they do, at least one current starter is almost guaranteed to be sacrificed in a corresponding cost-cutting move.“ (denverpost.com/2026/05/01/nug…)

That feels like a very poor decision IMO This also feels very Nuggets. Feels like they’ll try and lock up Peyton Watson and trade Cam. Maybe from a big swing standpoint that’s all they can pull off. However, not to switch up the leadership feels very misguided to me.

David Adelman is expected to return as head coach of the Denver Nuggets for his second season, per @BennettDurando “Despite chatter that Adelman may already be on the hot seat one year into his tenure, the early sense within the organization is that he’ll return for his second season. He led the Nuggets to 54 regular-season wins with 28 different starting lineups before wiping out in the playoffs.” (denverpost.com/2026/05/01/nug…)

It would be completely justified if DEN wanted to pivot. The Nuggets played with a lack of team spirit and trust on the floor, and belief in each other. Absence of rotation changes (Strawther), stale two man game vs McDaniels and Rudy, and no shift in defensive coverages
