The people who are protesting over the crippling price of green diesel and all other fuels on the bridges across the river shannon and on the highways and byways of Ireland from 7am in the morning (Tuesday) wrote to the Taoiseach Micheal Martin and the Tanaiste Simon Harris TD last Tuesday Match 31) after the big public protest in Portlaoise which I attended - they were seeking the opening of dialogue and offered a list of suggestions to deal with this crisis . The response they got was ZERO - not as much as an acknowledgement of their letter from Government buildings . This is just inexplicable to me. In these circumstances I fully support their right to peaceful protest in their lorries and tractors all over the country tomorrow . This Government is out of touch with the reality of the hardship now on the ground - and they will learn that the hard way in the coming days . Independent Ireland
