Are there any teachers out there who despite all the crap, still love their job? Who skip to work every morning? Those who feel they’re making a difference? Who also have a life? @TTRadio2022 @sharing_support @Headteacherchat @Thinkingschool2

If we provide feedback without an opportunity for the student to use it to improve, we've simply told them what they're struggling with and then sent the message that we don't care enough to let them get better at it. Feedback can't just be leaving comments on a page.

@JillannFarmer And without contracting COVID they would continue leading meaningful and happy lives. It IS COVID that stopped their lives. It infuriates me that this narrative continues to diminish their worth.

I believe it's being done in an attempt to reassure the public at large, but our leaders need to think long and hard about what the messaging really is.

I've finally worked out why the constant statement of "underlying conditions" irks me so much when reporting Covid deaths. There is an implied end to the sentence which we all understand. What they are really saying is ...(and so we shouldn't be too concerned). Well, I am.

@CMMortlock I’m the same. Really have to pace myself with basic every day tasks. Also, my hair is falling out in clumps.

Anyone else have quite severe fatigue after COVID? Anything I can do to help it? I can hardly keep my eyes open… 😐

@bellfrog @MrSrHoges I had the eye thing too and now my hair is falling out in clumps.

This was 7 days ago. Turned +ve in 10secs. Have had headaches, skin action, nausea, diarrhoea, sore throat, joint pains, loss of taste smell and lost at least 2 days from memory. 6hrs sleep in 3 days. THIS IS NOT JUST A COLD OR FLU.

@lukehgomes @Monstercoyliar I am currently covid positive, called my GP- can’t get phone appointment for 2 weeks. Oncologist the same! The system is failing.

Morrison saying people who test positive by rapid test should contact their own GP is not meaningful for many twentysomethings. Like telling them to contact their regular blacksmith

@simon_mulready I surveyed my parents last week and only 15% preferred the fortnightly newsletter to our other real time comms.

I think the school newsletter is dead. Formerly the single piece of communication provided to families each week, schools have done a remarkable job, with daily communications across a range of platforms, reflecting the innovation, agility & responsiveness of school leaders. 👊

@Olivia_Bee_o_O @marquelawyers Yes, we’ve just had to cancel a booking as we had several couples from different households and they wouldn’t allow it.

@marquelawyers Apparently airbnb host have been asked to ensure that all guests are from the same household and all adults are vaccinated, like they have any way of verifying the identity of adults staying at their property. Also I wouldn't be cool sending my Vax cert to private individuals.

NSW businesses: when you reopen, under current law you are required to exclude unvaccinated customers (until 1 Dec). You must take reasonable steps to check but, if there's trouble, just call the cops. No doubt a few people will be looking for a problem, don't get sucked in.

@MaralynParker That just astounds me! Although in a primary school setting, where students are unvaccinated, I’m assuming the students would still be close contacts and require isolation, therefore impacting parents, school attendance etc. ??

Here we go, a change of health rules —- vaccinated people will now ‘only be marked as casual contacts or low risk’ even if they have direct contact with an infected person indoors. Guess that’s got teachers covered then

We need to listen and learn from what’s happening overseas before it’s too late here.

The rate among 10-14s has now gone over 1000 per 100K. This is out of control -- cases are now doubling every 7 days in this age group. If the government was concerned about children getting Covid it would have to take action now. But it looks like it's just part of the plan.
