@GolfSpyT Considering the data, it's certainly revealing itself to be a powerplay by elites, and it's going to hurt the game of golf in the long run.
They're willing to alter the game for 100 million amateur golfers in order to satisfy 500 elite golf courses and their operators.

Is Fred Ridley the decider of what makes golf great? The rollback isn't going to accomplish what some choose to believe it will.
The ball isn't going to fly like balata again. Nobody who understands how to play efficiently is going to "work the ball" except to avoid obstacles, and if you believe in Strokes Gained math, it's going to widen the scoring gap between longer and shorter hitters off the tee.
Distance will drop a bit, and scores will come down a little and everyday golfers will lose distance because the governing bodies don't like it when an Infinitesimally small percentage of golfers hit the ball really far.
It took a century for people to figure out, but the cat's out of the bag ... golf is a power game, always has been, and the rollback will only accentuate that.
Oh...and that's before we discuss @LouStagner's conversation with the USGA. They know the ball isn't the root of the *problem*.
