@ChudTenant My kids private school makes them memorize Bible verses, read classics, & write in cursive, no tech at all. It's absolutely reflected in their intelligence. They get enough tech at home, school is to learn. I don't see another way forward when public school is like you describe.

This in a Florida school that got an "A" in the state's grading system.

The Bank of Japan is trapped and pretty much all out of options at this point. They can’t do anything but continue to jawbone and fight a losing rear guard action to try to defend the yen with FX reserves.
But what happens the day after they unload those reserves and send the Yen back to 150 or even 145? The same short process that sent the USD/Yen exchange rate north of 161 will just resume itself again.
And it will resume because the market knows the Bank of Japan is bluffing. They cannot save both the bond market and the currency. The actions necessary to rescue one will inevitably destroy the other.
When push comes to shove, the BOJ’s primary job is to ensure that the Japanese government itself does not experience a sovereign debt crisis.
And so they’ll save the bond market by sacrificing the Yen.
There very well could be extreme intervention and violent swings to the downside along the way, but the Yen is most likely going to 200 and the Nikkei to +100,000.
