@dobetterdnvr And recently announced an intent to increase the Lakewood city sales tax. I'm guessing the NGO is already picked out to run the campaign.

Teller & Colfax. Governor of Lakewood Wendi Strom admits that “since COVID we’ve gone from very little in our city budget to several million dollars a year to address these issues specifically” (ie homelessness). So, where is the money going, Wendi?

@CivicSparks Red romaine, beets, carrots, dill, and onion varieties went in last Saturday in time for the snow moisture. Plus, lots of compost with wigglers and friendly neighbors.

Every single one of you needs to grow a garden. I don’t care if it’s in patio pots. Just do it. It’ll make you happy! You can plant your lettuce seeds today on the Front Range.

@jeremyjojola Planted the cold season crops with the weekend Spring kickoff snow. Might even go wild and toss some less hardy seeds into Mother Earth.

Current Monday morning temp is 15 degrees here in Denver. Weather folks are saying we could see up to 90 degrees later this week. 🫠

@FreeStateColor1 Thanks to everyone who testified. 🩷 I realize it's tough when the committee hearings are in the middle of the work day (to pay the taxes!) and might mean hours on hold just to speak for two minutes.

@nexton9news The bill sponsors are manipulating the ballot title process. Hurdles for citizen initiatives. 👇 While they refuse to include the dollar amount in a legislatively referred ballot question, and even claim the measure is not a tax increase. Example: SB26-135 (K-12 Public Education)

CO Senate Republicans unsuccessfully fought HB26-1001 this week. This bill usurps local control and eliminates public comment in specific housing development projects -and does nothing to improve housing affordability. Local government deserves respect, not rules from the State

@kimbert7 Thank you, I was originally involved in the online transparent spending measure back in 2009. Unfortunate that it takes a CORA in this era. i2i.org/wp-content/upl…

@ColoEngaged Districts are not required to post detailed expenditures on the web any longer. Some do still. You have to ask them via a CORA request for a check register.

This is Denver Public Schools financial transparency. Useless data without vendor or description. I submitted the CORA. Will it be "free" data or come with a price tag to see what exactly is being purchased with public money. #gid=316630183" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d…

@kimbert7 Thank you for the info. I can't locate the detailed DPS register but maybe I overlooked it. I can find Jeffco though it it's Power BI and apparently no export. By chance do you know where the detailed DPS register is presented?

@ColoEngaged This is the required upload to the state for the entire school year. These are combined general ledger chart of accounts numbers. The last column you need to add a decimal point or divide that number by 100 to get the actual cost. These are not individual expenditures.

@TheRMVoice Note, please don't follow the proponents' bogus script. It's a permanent deTABOR, see page 9. There's no sunset. Watch the video. Confirmed in person yesterday after pinning down the sponsor in the hallway. Had to ask more than once, but admission made. freestatecolorado.com/sb26-135/

A proposed Colorado ballot measure could redirect billions normally returned to taxpayers under TABOR to public schools—potentially eliminating refunds for the next decade. Voters may decide the issue this fall. rockymountainvoice.com/2026/03/11/cri…

@bobgcolorado @FreeStateColor1 Actually, I was very involved with requiring the account payable registers, beginning in 2009. Not only schools, but also a role in requiring the Transparency Online Project (TOPS) for state spending. I've seen things. Started out with CORA paper requests, I go back that far.

@ColoEngaged @FreeStateColor1 You're going to regret getting into the district's financial details. You're going to find things that will make your blood boil, and no one will care when you expose them. Wish I could see the CEA posts, but they blocked me years ago.
