@jamesarthur83 Completely the reason why I stopped breeding. I loved being a hobby breeder but the costs and risks became too great. I suspect there are hundreds like me.

The cost of raising a foal has nearly doubled in the last 10 years, Agistment, vets, transport sales prep etc. Couple that with post sales scope failings and general industry scally wag behaviour it's a massive risk if your intentions are to sell.

@wpasterfield The burden of proof seems all wrong. Ninja was deprived of the chance to win the race because Torque shifted out. He did nothing wrong - then why does he have to prove that he would’ve won the race?

I think there is little doubt the severe bump at a crucial stage cost Ninja the race yesterday. But I can also understand why the protest was dismissed. The margin was too great to be sure Ninja would have won. But that bump certainly knocked the stuffing out of him and cost him
