@MightyDoomz @zokayy_ Well you beat us at full strength early in the season. And the team's confidence was way up on previous years, before Luai arrived. Very easy to wring your hands of his impact now that things have soured with fans, but even Benji said "he can't repay" the effect he's had.

@antonposa @zokayy_ We are 13th and 2 points from the bottom 4, we can’t really regress much more than going back to the spoon. we haven’t progressed much with Luai anyways and if there has been any progression, it isn’t because of Luai this season.

@MightyDoomz @zokayy_ It's about overall squad balance and depth the best teams have proven experience in their spine, and leadership. My concern is that when Api or Douehi go down (and they always do), you're super thin there. Can't expect rookies to lead a team around. It's a fair assessment.

@antonposa @zokayy_ Alright I can admit I jumped the gun, my apologies but you aren’t looking at properly. It’s less about money and more about opening up a pathway for Latu or even Javon to earn a halves spot. Saying we will go back to spoon potentially because Luai is leaving is just odd.

@antonposa @MightyDoomz Good question and one I cant say for sure. Bula and the May’s got big upgrades (probably overpaid) after the PNG news. But I would assume if we had ample space that both the Fainu brothers would have already been locked up given how quickly they sorted the others.

@zokayy_ @MightyDoomz Outside of Luai, where is your cap being spent to not be able to retain a back rower and a fringe half? KPP probably on a decent wicket. Maybe Terrell and his brother. Beyond that surely you have a bit of space for upgrades. Zero marquees or rep players. Compare it to others.

@antonposa @MightyDoomz Agree with this, knowing Averillos utility value he’ll probably fill in the halves at some point. However I think if Luai stays it’s highly likely we would have lost Latu and Samuela. If so, thats not an outcome you can even consider vs one more year of Luai.

@MightyDoomz @zokayy_ You're clearly set on your so views I'll leave you to them. But a decline is certainly on the cards for the tigers next year with Luai gone, in my opinion. The optics of tapping your captain on the shoulder are awful too.

@antonposa @zokayy_ Benji has said that the younger guys who are already at the club will be given the first opportunity to earn the halves spot. AD has played as many games as other halves have this year. Smarter for who? He would be a distraction because of his traveling to PNG throughout 27.

@MightyDoomz @zokayy_ You sure about that? I'd love to know how you know for sure. Regardless, Douehi seems to miss a lot of games every year. That leaves you really exposed in trems of spine experience. Honestly, I think letting Luai play on for one more year would have been smarter.

@antonposa @zokayy_ But Averillo won’t be in the halves.. his signed to play right centre, it’s only the media that keeps saying he will play in the halves… the media makes up stories to fit their agendas. The 2 players who will be given the chance to play in the halves are Latu and Javon.

@MightyDoomz True. But his defence is pretty poor, regardless of where he plays, from what I've observed.

@antonposa You’ve seen what we’ve all seen, Latu being forced to play out of position in short stints and not be given a fair shot in his preferred position. It’s always a big gamble when given young halves a legit shot, no matter what club they play for.

@MightyDoomz @zokayy_ To be honest, I think the eels have a worse deal. They are blocking their pathways with a guy who is clearly doing a gap year. Averillo is really suited to the sped up version of the game. But he's got no kicking game, which is why I don't like him in the halves.

@zokayy_ @antonposa People don’t see the bigger picture, they just are blinded and easy to fault the Tigers for every move because it’s something that’s been done for so long. I don’t blame them though, the club has made it easy for them to see us that way.

@antonposa Luai wasn’t winning us games either. Latu wanted clarification on his role going forward and this clears up a clear pathway for Latu or Javon to earn a 6 jersey. And we don’t know if Latu is a legit half 1st grader because he hasn’t been given a fair chance to prove it yet.

@MagicGilasFan @fishors Yeah I get that. But there's still no reason to live him on. Other players have sponsorship and media commitments during the season. Happens at every club. Tigers are still a better team with him in it.

@MightyDoomz You could have retained them without letting Luai go. Other guys are off contract at end of season and your other players aren't on huge money. Tigers need experience and standards right now. Can't rely on rookies to win you games. Latu isn't even a slam dunk first grader.

@antonposa Why do you hate it for both parties? If we kept Luai for 27, we would be paying him 1.2 and would most likely lose Samuela and Latu. Now we free up 700k and now have a better shot at keeping Latu and Samuel instead of losing all 3. Probably the smartest things we’ve ever done.
