@JonnyPolitics If a few are effected, why should the masses loose out? And what are these restrictions based, minority public opinion?

@ControlYork I think you’re perhaps missing the point: It’s all about balance. I don’t support unreasonable noise complaints, nor do I think unreasonable noise intrusion is OK. I very much want events like the Balloon Fiesta to continue but they won’t be able to if they breach restrictions.

I am receiving a *lot* of complaints about the noise from the Balloon Fiesta. I spoke to the organisers at 7.30pm & said it seemed considerably louder than other similar events on the Knavesmire. I have just contacted them again (9pm) & have also contacted public protection (1/2)

(2/2) I want events like the Balloon Fiesta to take place and be successful - and I accept some amount of disturbance is to be expected living in a vibrant city - but events cannot have *such* an intrusive effect on local residents.
