My former colleague used to monitor everyone’s resumption time. Clock in at 8:01 instead of 8:00 and she was already writing your name down, even tho there’s a clocking in machine…She had a whole book. Physical book. With dates and times and her own little notes. When tardiness report comes out,She reported people who the machine might have miss to HR for being two minutes late while she spent half her working day managing that book instead of doing her actual job. Nobody liked her. Everyone feared her. She knew both and preferred it that way. Then the company did a performance review. First real one in years. They looked at output. Not resumption time. Actual output. She had the least to show of anyone in that office. They let her go on a Friday. She had been two minutes early every single day for four years.

@EloMall @seuIgifilm Yall can have a phone conversation- unless you just do not want to make time for another person. Sounds very me focused- which is a way to be- but isnt a way to allow someone to get to know you. Much of modern life is not IRL- so I dont get the hard nocommitment everyone has

@seuIgifilm That's why I can't do dating apps. I hate texting. Barely tolerate it with very good friends. The idea of texting with a stranger is my idea of hell. And people don't seem to understand if you're only interested in making plans to actually meet.

someone's probably gonna burn me at the stake for this take but i legit think being car-free/a transit user has helped me learn to manage time relative to adhd brain...when being 2min late for the bus means being 30min late for a commitment, you learn to plan ahead QUICK

@eagleseyeinc I used to be caseless. Prefered the phone feeling and I was relatively good about not dropping. I shattered it one time and the inconvenience of it changed me to having a case and a screenprotector. That is the differnece between young me and old me.

i know you don’t know why, so i will explain the theatrics behind this for you while growing up, i had a friend who refused to use a case, he said it ruined the design so one day his phone slipped out of his hand in slow mo, we both watched it hit the ground like a scene from an indian movie 😭 his screen cracked instantly but he picked it up, looked at it for a second… and just laughed. he didn’t fix it for months, that’s when i realized it wasn’t about the phone. .. some people don’t move through life trying to avoid damage, they move like they’ve already accepted it. so rocking a caseless phone means your comfortable with risk or you’ve just accepted that damage is part of the experience, some people want protection but others want to feel everything even if it comes with consequences...
