Fantastic observation by Jiddu Krishnamurti. Change immediately, do not over analyze. Act now if you want any change at all.

this is called context poisoning, when LLMs are used for large scale profile shortlisting instead of a human reviewers doing it.
LLMs processing thousands of applications do not evaluate profiles with uniform attention. Due to inherent limitations in transformer attention mechanisms, they disproportionately focus on certain segments or "chunks" of the input while under representing others.
This non uniform processing is a documented issue in AI research known as "lost in middle".
As a result, shortlisting outcomes can become skewed in opaque ways that do not reflect consistenty.
In contrast, a more logical and defensible approach would recognize that students who applied earliest, particularly those within the first ~500 applications generally represent the most confident and committed cohort. Having submitted proactively rather than at the last minute.
One would therefore expect this group to receive a proportionally higher selection rate under a fair process.
@agrawalmanindra @SomitraSanadhya views ?
We expect transparency and accountability from a program that itself originated from a movement demanding greater accountability.

@DeceptaTech @agrawalmanindra how did they even get shortlisted, if they don’t know the most basic thing about cybersecurity (ctf), what did they have in their portfolio, what is the team even doing.
English

@meesha890 It is very unfair for deserving people. I didn't expected this type of behavioue from IIT Kanpur
