Let me get this straight. A close personal friend of the president allegedly contacted a senior ICE official to have the mother of his child detained and deported during a private custody battle.  She was ultimately detained and deported.  The Department of Homeland Security denies the two events are connected. You can decide what you believe. But here is what is not in dispute. A man with direct access to the White House called a senior immigration official about his ex-girlfriend at the exact moment it would benefit him in a custody dispute. That official then called ICE’s Miami field office to make sure she was picked up before she was released from jail, emphasizing that the case mattered to someone close to the White House. This is the real face of the immigration crackdown. Not dangerous criminals. Not threats to public safety. A mother caught in a custody dispute, deported because her ex knows Trump. people.com/paolo-zampolli…

How dumb is @MeghanMcCain. She thinks a PROPOSED bill means it became law. You would think the daughter of a US Senator would know how bills work

@BerryRichards1 I didn’t use the word “only”, but it’s the fact that this budget item doesn’t go into effect until 2028. Meaning Delegates and Senators (of both parties) voted for this knowing they may never see it themselves. This is about making this role more accessible to regular Virginians.

@DelJessAnderson Every time I see or hear someone use the term 'only' when talking about the cost of something I think they are morons. There are millions of things that 'only' cost some dollar amount. Should we be spending money on all the only's?

You seem to be ignoring the Republicans who also voted for this raise? And just to be clear, that increase represents 0.0018% of the total budget. An increase, I might add, that makes the role more accessible to more Virginians to run, versus the independently wealthy.

So @SpeakerDonScott & @SenLouiseLucas’ budget uses an additional $2 million in taxpayer money to increase their salaries That’s tax money. More tax money ⬆️

Wow huge turnout today in Prince William County Over 7,300 votes, almost twice equivalent day in 2025 Shows how much pent up demand there was for the satellite locations here There is also Sunday early voting here too tomorrow
Prince William County Office of Elections@PWCVotes

PWC's busiest early voting day for satellite locations opening was 5,325 voters in 2020. The busiest first weekend day of early voting was 4,678 voters in 2024. PWC voters smashed those records today with over 7,300 early voters who had little to no wait to vote.  #PWCVotes

@DelJessAnderson @AndrewCFollett LOL! Nice try. The Dems’ strategic decision to not pass a budget & to have a special session to do so after your attempt at overturning the Virginia Constitution, hasn’t escaped most people who are paying attention. Funny what your priorities are.

Virginian here. I wouldnt wish whats happening in this state on my worst enemy. Dems TRIPLED their legislative salaries while simply no longer enforcing basic laws like stopping crime. Do not let this happen to your state.

How will life improve if Democrats win the midterms? People need some perspective. Or actually we don’t. Look at Virginia. Taxes went up and they are banning guns. That will happen nationwide, and much worse, if Democrats win.

@TeamZissou How is “he right” when nothing he listed passed, and therefore wasn’t endorsed or signed by the Governor? Also she won with one of the largest margins and over 30 elections have flipped blue since Trump won and countless GOP strongholds have shifted as much as 20 points.

A quick check of the Virginia record. The taxes in this post - the Food and Beverage Tax, Digital Services Tax, Utilities Tax - are committee-stage proposals filed by Democratic legislators. Multiple sources confirm Spanberger has not signed them into law. University of Virginia political scientist Larry Sabato said publicly that "most of this will be eliminated by leadership or the Governor's Office." The one concrete executive action Spanberger has taken is rejoining RGGI, the regional carbon cap-and-trade program - which opponents legitimately argue will raise utility costs. That is a real, defensible critique. But this post attributes bills she hasn't signed, and in several cases hasn't endorsed, to her as completed acts of governance. Virginia is also sitting on a $1.2 billion budget surplus. Spanberger won by 15 points in November running explicitly on an affordability platform. The legislature is simultaneously advancing a bill to eliminate the grocery tax. The post is being written from Trump National - a club the President owns and profits from - while he's in Virginia for private meetings. The state he's describing as a catastrophe is also the state his business interests just traveled to. Proposals in committee are not signed law. That gap matters.

I need Republicans to stop pretending they care about Fair maps, if they did they would have passed H.R.5449 - Redistricting Reform Act of 2025. But they know that if this was law they’d never have the majority in Congress again. congress.gov/bill/119th-con…

When Virginia voters ask me what the number one thing they can do to fight back against Donald Trump, I say vote YES by April 21. As my friend @EricHolder put it, this election is all about saving our democracy!

Hey Meghan, Nick is a Republican shill, but regardless legislators proposing bills that did NOT get a single vote, or pass the general assembly does NOT equal Spanberger introducing or signing bills into law. The bills are nonexistent. The only one lying is Trump and you!
Meghan McCain@MeghanMcCain

Here is a local @7NewsDC segment outlining the entire proposal. So really, why the hell are you lying Congresswoman? How about you do your homework before screwing over the people of Virginia. youtube.com/shorts/biQee0V…
