So Kevin Pietersen’s big announcement today that he’s been building up is that there’s an announcement in 5 days? The blokes as good a marketer as he was a teammate
@MHJeffrey027@MichaelChammas That’s correct but who knows with the RFL. That rebuilding season in the Championship did Wakefield a world of good and I can see London doing similar. As a southern league fan I’d love London to finally work.
@Edski1@MichaelChammas As I read it they need to get the whole package up to being either up to A standard in IMG rankings (9 clubs hold this) or be in the top 5 B standard teams across all leagues which considers more than on field performance
@YorkshireCCC Sounds like he wants to be closer to home and also has a longer deal on offer elsewhere. We’re right to not offer him a long deal given his injuries.
The Yorkshire County Cricket Club can confirm Matthew Milnes will leave the Club at the end of his current contract.
Milnes has decided to seek an opportunity elsewhere but will continue to be available for the remainder of this season.

@henrywinter Could they not introduce an owner’s licence where if they behave in a certain way they are forced to sell and if they refuse to sell by a date an independent body sets a fair market value?
What’s happening to Morecambe is a disgrace. Terrible owner, unpaid wages, only 10 senior players, pre-season games cancelled, first three NL games postponed, expulsion a possibility, club’s 105-year existence in grave doubt. Huge credit to their fans like Shrimps Trust and players like Tom White who’ve fought on in such challenging circumstances. Morecambe’s owner, Jason Whittingham, is primarily culpable for this mess/impasse. He needs to sell but hasn’t.
Authorities have let this situation drift despite constant alarms raised by fans. Echoes of what befell Bury. Morecambe’s plight is also echoed elsewhere with unfit owners damaging certain clubs and the national game. If we tolerate this, another club could be next.
Is Whittingham a fit and proper owner? Clearly not. Would others like him get through even a tightened Owners’ and Directors’ Test? Possibly. Even if they pass are the checks on their financial viability frequent enough? At least with the Independent Football Regulator coming in there will be more robust and regular checks. And much needed.
But will the IFR, the fans’ friend, this new body to protect clubs from unfit owners, be too late for Morecambe? Fans meeting @shrimpstrust agm Thursday. Good luck to them. Like Tom White, they’re fighting hard to keep Morecambe alive. Football needs more people like them - and less like Whittingham. #Shrimps 🦐
@GaryOrmiston1@AaronBower Maybe Toulouse come up and whoever is at home out of Toulouse and Catalans isn’t shown on Sky - a separate French led broadcast deal.
@AaronBower Aaron how does affect the TV contract, which only dictates 6 games per round, what have they said up the food chain, the people that sign the contract, not just the employees who tow the line
@Stuart_Watson Would love to have kept him but I understand where both parties are coming from. Sam has been one of the main drivers of our success and deserves one last big contract.
@HLTCO I’d imagine if all games were allowed to be televised you’d rarely get a Saturday 3pm. It’d be more like the NRL where each game has its own slot.
Having a debate with a mate and want to turn to you lot to settle it…
Would all of the 3pm Premier League kick-offs being shown legally in the UK stop you from going to football weekly?
I’m firmly in the “I’d still go regardless” camp but I’m intrigued by general answers.
Jamie Smith is class. Partnership with Duckett makes sense in the same way that Duckett and Crawley's does, with different dimensons and strengths knocking bowlers off their length. Also allows England to spread their two lefties through the top 7 and attack spin.
Let's do this one last time!

@PolitlcsUK@Telegraph She not realise most companies lowered their level of sugar use by replacing with artificial sweeteners which in turn can trigger cravings for sugary foods, potentially leading to overeating and weight gain. Therefore this whole spiel about reducing obesity levels is nonsense.
@BBCMOTD Lots of people mention poor recruitment however most clubs look at the same data these days and if you’re a newly promoted side you’re behind all the established sides in the queue. You’ve literally got to gamble on a few unknowns coming good. Promoted sides also screwed by PSR.
For the first time in Premier League history, the three promoted sides have gone straight back down in consecutive seasons ⬇️
Is the Premier League too tough for promoted teams?
