Let me sketch out the actual privacy stack.
It starts with encrypted inputs. Not masked. Not hidden in a side pool. Fully homomorphic encrypted. Your data hits the chain as ciphertext and never stops being ciphertext.
That's where the fhEVM does the work. It's an execution environment that processes those encrypted inputs. It runs computations additions, multiplications, the logic of a smart contract directly on the encrypted data. The state updates, but everything is still encrypted.
The output? A confidential result. A private balance update, a sealed auction winner, an AI inference. The answer is revealed only to who should see it, but the chain has verified the computation was correct.
