hey frens, very sad to share that i was affected by the recent 14% layoffs at @coinbase. i’m leaving alongside incredibly talented colleagues who i've spent nearly everyday building with. we became a family through all the blood, sweat, and tears of everything we tackled together. i joined @base right at the beginning of mainnet launch in august 2023. during this time, i drove the growth of our community platforms, scaling our discord, reddit, x spaces, and livestreams to build deep user engagement. but i was much more than just a community guy. as my past manager @wbnns put it, our small team operated like spec ops, wearing many hats and tackling complex issues as they surfaced. i managed cross-functional operations, nurtured key external partnerships, uplifted team members, and optimized processes by finding gaps and building seamless workflows. i have grown exponentially during my time here. this hurts, as i truly hoped to stay at coinbase for the rest of my career, but i gave it my all and am walking away profoundly grateful for this chapter. thank you to the leaders who guided me, the amazing team that supported me, and the passionate community members i've had the honor of connecting with. i am now actively seeking my next opportunity. if your team needs a versatile operator who specializes in community growth, cross-functional operations, and bridging gaps to make teams run flawlessly, i would love to connect. dms are open :).

If this layoff situation has taught me one thing, it’s that it’s important to have ambitions offline Believe me I love being a part of the tech industry, but our brains aren’t meant to constantly process layoffs, market volatility, AI disruption, and endless updates all day everyday Disconnect and live life outside the timeline A healthy mind and body is truly the advantage

Should we use fee revenue to hire a community/token manager? They'd be responsible for metrics like; # token holders, # active followers on socials, engagement rate on socials, # of and quality of CEX listings, trade volume, ... These are flexible but meant to give an idea of what I'm looking for from this person. I'm getting lots of pings about things to do here, but I want to keep my focus on product & partnerships. Also lots of people are offer to help on some of those things.. So maybe we just need a way for you all to work together efficiently. Conversations on X are too hard for you all to see the work/overlap with others in the community...

I am proud to say I have made my mark on the ecosystem, coming from the community and growing to support so many amazing builders on @base. If you were launching on Base, you know me as the "virtual events" & "mini campaign guy". Putting together a campaign funnel for a successful launch on Base. Hosting Livestreams, X Spaces, Reddit AMAs, Discord Events, YouTube Campaigns, DevRel videos and more online activities. It was an honor to work for such an amazing ecosystem, and I will miss you all going forward. I will continue to build in market and support teams building the forefront of technology. I will miss hosting weekly Reddit AMAs, X Spaces, Livestreams and other Virtual Events. I will miss taking random calls with North American teams to find ways to support them. Yes, I got laid off from @coinbase today. Been getting a lot of questions so figured I'd make it official. No resentment though. Shit happens... It was about time I was on the other side of layoffs. This will likely sound cheesy but this is an opportunity to reflect on the time I had at @base because it was genuinely one of the best chapters of my career. I've been a part of high performing growth teams at places like Circle and Lyft before but this role was a different ball game. I was out of my comfort zone from day one and basically had to be the CEO of my region with little to no direction (this was a new region launching after all). Exciting and terrifying at the same time. I worked as hard as I did when I was super junior. Zone-5, non stop. And I loved it. Scope expanded from Turkey to 20+ countries in Eastern Europe, then to central and global projects, and somewhere along the way I stopped being the growth/marketing guy and became the entrepreneurial figure it out and be right guy. I felt aligned with the mission in a way I rarely have. My average tenure has been around 2.5 years and I could genuinely see myself here for 5+. That doesn't happen often. Big thanks to @XenBH for taking a bet on me knowing I was coming from a different lane, truly one of the best managers I've ever had. And to @jessepollak - honestly terrifying having my bar raiser interview with the guy who invented Base. How do you prove to him you're better than half the company at something, teach him something new in 30 minutes, and convince him you're someone he'd want to work with day to day? Somehow it worked. Thank you for the strong yes. And to @saxenasaheb, who's been pushing hard lately to make sure everyone on the team got to show their true strengths. But the real highlight was always the team. Claude actually told me a team photo would be tone deaf today. I disagree. These are some of the most capable, ambitious people I've ever worked with, and most of us walked out of Base together today. If you're looking for talent, reach out to them. Seriously. Not everyone is in this photo but you know who you are and I love you all❤️ What's next: my expertise is heavily in blockchain, but I'm feeling the same pull toward AI that I felt when I first got into crypto years ago. Open to roles in either, or at the intersection. Growth, ecosystem, or whatever shape lets me operate end to end. I've got a lot more free time now so DMs are open. Thanks for reading🫡

i honestly can’t believe i have to write this but i have been affected by the @coinbase layoffs from hiring/scaling our growth team to onboarding content creators/traders to representing the company at conferences to creating written/video content to doing millions of impressions on socials to hosting spaces to leading communications with blockchain clubs to running the student track for our base batches accelerator program, i have been much more than a recruiter i have given my all to @base so this really hurts but what an opportunity has this been i showed up everyday, gave 110%, and am truly proud of the brand i’ve built for myself and for the company it’s been an absolute pleasure working with my manager @KQpewpew and recruitment team (@kael_base_eth, @0xBradyn, and @Blayne_base_eth) as well as everyone i’ve hired (too many of you to name here) and everyone in the business i’ve partnered with and last but not least @jessepollak and @XenBH you have all provided me the opportunity to level up my skills and build an amazing team, and i couldn’t be more grateful i’ll be personally reaching out to everyone to express my gratitude as i’ll truly miss working with all of you now i’m going to do what i always do and stay optimistic especially because i’m leaving more skillful than i arrived frankly it feels too sudden, but i am now seeking my next opportunity if you are looking for a jack of all trades growth person/recruiter, i am your guy dms are open
