Some of you completely misunderstand what socialism even is, which stops the conversation before it even begins. Socialism isn’t the politics of Robin Hood, or telling people to live like monks. All it is, is enabling workers to keep the value of what their labor produces.

@TheMightyDino @CodyLibolt The graph goes all the way down, it doesn't stop at the middle. Also cops, ICE agents, etc. are all guard dogs of the elites, they are not an autonomous entity that influences politics by themselves alone.

I’ve been screaming about this for years - if the left in europe refuses to capitalise on American decline by pushing for decoupling from the US - as a core foreign policy pitch on their agenda - then the right eventually will. It’s a perfect popular argument to couple with class conscious politics - european sovereignty and an independent path. It ticks all the principled AND practical boxes and will only grow in popularity.

Pointing out that capitalism is better than feudalism doesn’t take talent, and it’s laughably obvious that capitalism creates both great freedoms and unfreedom at the same time. But the main point is that not all capitalisms are equal. These people conflate all forms of ‘markets’ and ‘commerce’ with ‘capitalism’ and avoid any substantive questions about how and when markets do and do not work. They’re more concerned with erecting some anti-capitalist left straw man by way of Soviet or Cuban communism or whatever. Deeply unserious incel twitter warriors.
