Seems paradox really overdid it regarding population with EU5 1.2 1.1 Germany 1696 vs 1.2 Italy 1598 no peasants, empty military buildings all around noone to promote.

@Meelsie143 It's something I'm torn on, I love the TES games because you actually can access every house, and people have their own backstories (even if it's literally just a few lines). But at the same time, yeah, if you want actual cities you have to get rid of that.

one of my blind spots in gaming is that I've never actually played Skyrim but it seems like they made the nords generic viking types when in previous games they were scandinavians who worshipped the indu gods and could do that stuff from David Lynch's Dune

if you didn't know, the main gimmick of the 7th game was that you would change civilizations per new "age".
so if, for example if you started as french in antiquity and the age shifts to exploration, you are REQUIRED BY THE GAME MECHANICS to change to another civilization.
it was a baffling decision because one of the draws of Civ is bringing your chosen civilization to victory from mud huts to space.
glad that they did say "we got it wrong"
