Seed oils have made a lot of people very fat, but not because there’s anything special about the oil. It’s just oil, and a major source of invisible calories in modern diets.
You could swap seed oils with any other oil and Americans would be just as fat.

When you look into the literature *carefully,* you end up finding the opposite.
A recent review paper (promoted by Crem) cited a single RCT to say that omega-6 PUFAs ("seed oil fat") reduce inflammation.
When you look a the RCT itself, it actually shows that a drop in CRP (inflammatory marker) followed a drop in omega-6 PUFA intake.
The review plays word games, because the RCT compares canola oil (a lower omega-6 seed oil) to sunflower oil (a high omega-6 seed oil) as the control condtion.
Crem may or may not understand the underlying biology very well, but the authors of the misleading literature review are being either very sloppy scholars, or actively deceptive.

Seed oils: Are they even correlated with bad health? I assembled ALL of the available NHANES data and linked as much as possible of it to the National Death Index and found that... It's not. Seed oils aren't even correlated with problems.
