I wonder why Zach Merrett seems to get absolved of Essendon's results as if he's not a part of the team. The elite guys he's compared to aren't ever on teams this bad, because they lift those around them. At what point are you a part of the problem as well?

@FlightPlanPod Todd It is clear that we can not continue on our current path - Brad has to go - he has lost a core grouping of the senior players and his match day game plan is unrecognisable (and has been for awhile) Who replaces him is an open ended question - but the club needs to act now

I (Toddy) have been a big Brad Scott fan since his time with the Roos, which I felt he, the players and the club punched so far above their weight, I couldn't help but be impressed. Unfortunately, he hasn't come close to replicating that club-wide mindset in red & black, & based on our two games of 2026 - the players ostensibly, have lost belief. Even worse, first round draft picks either can't get a game have been delisted or have regressed and stagnated in disastrous fashion. It is further compounded by a huge leadership void on field. I've always been glass half full guy when it comes to Essendon, but a hard decision our coach needs to be made asap. Either declare he'll see out the rest of the season to right the ship, or actively seek his replacement ASAP. Essendon fans are more than welcome to reply with your thoughts and feelings - but I'm restricting it to accounts we follow only ❤️🖤

This sums up our game. Umpire calls 'play on', Perkins doesn't listen and instead of laying the tackle, runs away like he thought it was paid as a mark. Simple errors that should never happen

Zac Merrett, the bloke who doesn't even want to be there, is showing the most spirit and endeavour. Speaks volumes

Nate Caddy has showcased some fantastic athleticism today, but there's absolutely no excuse to miss from there. He could have literally walked to the goal line

Zak Johnson has been fantastic so far. One of our few bright spots

In February Sam Durham signed a contract to be the longest tenured player and, as per the club 'anchor the new era'. A month later he had just two handballs in a quarter. He cannot be that bad in the next three quarters. He is a leader that needs to respond
