We have some important information to share with our listeners.
@Jasperc53 has decided to step down as co-host of TFP.
It’s a bittersweet moment as we’ve built a great community, & none of that exists without him.
I love him & he’ll be sorely missed.
However, Jasper leaves with my full blessing, gratitude for the commitment he made to record episodes weekly & unconditional support for what’s next for him.
While it’s an end of an era, I’m going to continue TFP as a solo venture, & I’d love it if you guys stick with me going forward ❤️🖤

@DanGoss5 I’m a passionate man who isn’t afraid to tell people how much they mean to me
English

@FlightPlanPod I’ll stick with you Todd! Will miss Jasper though! You must have thanked him 15 times at the end of today’s pod! LOL

TFP is going to sound different, but believe me - the passion will not waver.
I hope all of our listeners stick with me. Your support means everything to me & I hope you guys feel the same way.
If you’re going to stay with me, I promise to make it worth your time ❤️🖤

@gregpeartpolish Mate, these kids looked bloody good without the lazy senior guys running one way
English

@FlightPlanPod Now they just have to get zak Johnson back into the team Fucko
English

@Hougs1615921 I don’t think so, but negotiations will much better this time around and hopefully we can generate something close to a win-win

It’s going to be an interesting final month of the season for Jordan Ridley.
Conjecture at the halfway point was that he wanted to move to Queensland, with Gold Coast his preference.
12 months ago, it’d be a no-brainer for Rids, but so much has changed since then. The Suns are in the midst of an 8 game losing streak. It’s the polar opposite of Gold Coast would have anticipated following 2025 season, winning their first ever final before adding superstar Christian Petracca via trade.
This team should be challenging for a spot in the Top 4, but their 2026 drop off across the board is staggeringly shambolic.
If Ridley is having second thoughts, he wouldn’t be the first time a gun player changed his mind mid-season.
In 2024, Dan Houston was all but set to become a Dee until the club imploded, forcing him to seek a trade to a more stable situation.
However, the difference of Houston seeking a shift to Melbourne vs Ridley’s request is stark. Dan had 10 teams to choose from, while Rids is set on a 2 club state.
Following the Suns’ 2026 failure & the Lions lack of real interest; where does that leave Jordan Ridley?

Essendon has experienced the best and worst of the draft sliders since 2021.
Pick 13 to be specific!
❎ Ben Hobbs (2021)
The big slider of his draft. Injuries stalled his progress & his lack of versatility stunted his opportunities. Ultimately, his skill set as an inside mid wasn’t elite enough to paper over his deficiencies
✅ Dyson Sharp (2025)
He looms as one of the more perplexing sliders in recent years. Recruiters were perhaps gun-shy considering his ceiling might not be as high as others, but he’s a natural footballer & leader - a ticking a number of our boxes. At just 19, he’s already influencing the outcome of games

@Sportz_Boy88 @FootyLock6 Port is the solo winnable game. Unfortunately, we might could even cop a few triple figure defeats if we can’t maintain yesterday’s pressure
English

@FootyLock6 @FlightPlanPod Furthermore, Ess’s tougher fixture could see some genuinely rough losses.
Hawks (MCG),
Adel (marvel),
Geel (GMHBA),
Sydney (MCG),
Port (Marvel)
English

@MatthewJBrown19 Yes, but I believe their run home has as many as three winnable games, but I reckon we’ve got one win left at most
English

@SilentGhost263 Beat them in Perth - they’ll be confident. Saints are interesting - they’re currently 10th as one of four teams locked on 24 PP. By the time the Tigers game rolls around, they could be out of WC contention.
Thet face North & Blues (two teams on 24 PP), Swans & the Dogs at Marvel
English

@FlightPlanPod Tiges, short of them pulling out a massively unlikely win vs the Eagles we'd need to lose by about 150 points more overall across those last 5 to dip below on %
English

@FlightPlanPod Also a lot of successful teams have had success with a “budget” type ruckman. Not the most important void to fill.
English

There’s been asinine discourse around Essendon’s 2026 & how the R19 win took us off bottom of the ladder.
Firstly, our assistance package is “likely” & a second win isn’t going to matter one iota. Secondary to that: pick 1 will be a F/S selection irrespective, so the pick 1 sheen of the table.
Lastly, Richmond has been on the lookout to replace Nankervis via a trade, but Harry Van Hattum would solve their dilemma in the ultimate way.
That leaves us bid on another F/S, generating a first round selection in the process, before turning us onto the remaining crop.
If the Tigers go HVH, it leaves us with a pool of classy match-winners, which is exactly what we need ❤️🖤
