@TopherStoll Someone made a point that the earlier Trek drew from other genres and stories, Holmes, westerns, noir etc… while modern Trek draws from Trek and that idea has stuck in my head.

The entire world, including Andy Weir, cannot wrap their heads around the truth that-
A. Star Trek has always been very progressive and political and that’s a key part of its identity.
B. Modern trek is mostly very stupid and bad and it’s not because its politics have shifted.

The Last Jedi.
It somehow manages to give each of the trio meaningful character arcs while separated, only to have them all come together for a climatic finale that perfectly caps off the film as well as Luke's and Kylo's arcs.
Its cinematography is next level, and it is funny!

@StarWarsDaily_ Would of saved the trilogy honestly, there are scenes in the first film where you could see him mouthing words before someone would make the wrong decision, it was hidden so well, and the hate was so fast, the fans screwed themselves.

@bestofstarwar This scene was the best part of the film. In 99 I hated the CGI overload, a whining Anakin, super speed Jedi and Jar-jar (who in retrospect we hated on too soon and hard causing us to lose a potentially legendary Sith reveal) This scene though had grown men swinging sticks.
