@Buck 100 yrs ago today arguably one of the greatest sports announcers of all time was born. Happy heavenly birthday to Hall of Famer Jack Buck. What an American treasure. Had the pleasure to work with him at the 1991 NLCS in Pittsburgh. A true gentleman. Miss you Mr. Buck!

Max had a 1-2 rnd grade by many-still have draft capital to use tonight and grab a talented WR

@ASaunders_PGH That they wanted to draft a QB in first round of this draft is a little concerning. The way they handled the rest of the evening is concerning, also. They’ve never felt more shaky/poorly run in my lifetime.

Plan A was to draft a QB. Clearly, that plan failed, though little fault of the #Steelers. Plan B was to draft a wide receiver -- a sensible pivot -- and when Makai Lemon looked to be falling they planned to draft him. That plan failed when the Eagles sniped them, and the Steelers were at least somewhat to blame. Then, they seemed to run out of plans. And that's unexcusable. steelersnow.com/saunders-steel…

@Alex_Kozora Maybe - but just curious---what's not to like about Omar Cooper? KC? I get it, they were NOT pre-Draft visitors but neither was Max. Cooper/KC would have instantly added impact to WR room

They could have but I'm okay with them passing. If anything, that shows even more they really liked Iheanachor. Didn't panic and just take next best WR on the board - like the team did in 2016 with Burns after William Jackson III went right in front.

I fully expect this tonight. Steelers to make aggressive move to go up and trade for a WR. Denzel Boston, Germie Bernard possible targets. Bernard feels like better fit of two.

@LedyardNFLDraft & with respect to Max's selection---We shall know in 1-2 years how good this new O line coaching really is because they have been given - what can turn out to be - a wonderful ROI project & possibly erase the PR stench that spewed the Pittsburgh air shortly after 10PM on 4/23/26.

I liked Devin Bush and was wrong, learned from that one for sure. Loved Fautanu pick, exactly what I would have done. I just try to be authentic. Iheanachor is not the player Fautanu was in college, but this class isn't like that. He's the OT I would bet on in this class.

I know that I've been critical of Steelers past Round 1 picks and that has pissed people off at the time. But Bud Dupree, Artie Burns, Terrell Edmunds, Najee Harris, Kenny Pickett and Broderick Jones didn't exactly work out either. So I haven't just hated for no reason fwiw 😂

@BrianBatko He’s not considered a “sexy” WR or big-time separator, but this kid is a “Heady”football player who truly understands the game & the position & will move the chains. Another option Germie Bernard—great blocker/kick returner/more versatility.

Would not be at all surprised to see the Steelers move up for Denzel Boston now. They have the picks to do it. And for whatever it's worth, it would shift the narrative to some extent.

No reason to believe that won't have a shot tomorrow night for WRs Boston or Bernard. Plenty of draft capital

Our scouting report on new #Steelers 1st round pick Max Iheanachor. Didn't begin playing football until late. Right tackle in college. I'm guessing Troy Fautanu now shifts over to LT, where he played in college.

A third offensive tackle in four years in the first round. The #Steelers continue to ignore the wide receiver position. They get a very good athlete to add to their offensive line. Picked with very little time on the clock. Do think Eagles surprised them with Makai Lemon.
