@haider1 Yeah, nobody seems to be taking it seriously enough. The status quo is hard to shake off.

Honestly, we should want AGI to be delayed for a few years, maybe until 2030. I fear mass unemployment. And, I don't see any government seriously considering UBI yet.

AGI will rapidly lead to ASI, and when we reach ASI, human society as we know it will not be recognizable.

@kyleshannon @DaveShapi Chicken and egg. The models can't (currently) make what they haven't seen. Art carries an artist's unique insight, and they trained a mimic on that insight. If it wasn't valuable, they wouldn't use it. Sure, it's not a copy paste, but why pay the dancer to dance anymore?

They do. Most assume that AI is copy/pasting directly from an artists work, which of course isn't how they work... at all. There is a lot of justifiable fear and anger that these tools are going to disrupt every profession, so despite the possibilities for the good, scared people are fighting on maintaining the status quo, rather than embracing the most creatively empowering tools in the history of humanity. It's identical to every technological shift in human history, so it's not surprising, but it is disappointing. Change is hard, but AI isn't going away, so my philosophy is to grab a surfboard and start paddling and catch the biggest creative waves we've ever seen. We are entering the "Great RenAIssance" and those who choose to embrace AI as a collaborator—rather than an enemy—will win. What a remarkable time to be alive.
